Leaders outpoint Bridgewater on Pyramid Hill court
THE ladder-leading Pyramid Hill had all the answers to Bridgewater’s challenge in Saturday’s fourth round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
The Chelsea Emmerson-coached Pyramid Hill carried unbeaten form into the match on its court at Mitchell Park.
By the final whistle Pyramid Hill led the Mean Machine, 53-39.
Despite the defeat the Caz Wood and Olivia Collicoat-coached Bridgewater is third on the ladder going into the round five clash with Bears-Lagoon Serpentine on Bridgewater’s court.
Bears-Lagoon Serpentine showed its round two win against Inglewood was no fluke as it took the points at Marong’s Malone Park.
A first-year coach at the Bears, Danielle O’Toole marked a return to her former club and played a crucial on-court role in a 51-46 win by BLS against the Panthers.
The Robyn Cunnington-coached Marong has a one-three record rolling into next Saturday’s match at Calivil.
Inglewood could not stop Newbridge’s charge to a big victory on the Blues’ court at Centre State Scaffolding Oval.
The Abbey Hayes-coached Inglewood worked hard, but Newbridge had too much skill and firepower in attack.
At the final whistle the Selina Holland and Kristy Gandy-coached Newbridge led 58-21.
The Maroons have the bye next Saturday.
Was another tough hit-out for Calivil United as it took on Mitiamo.
The Haylee Fawcett-coached Calivil United worked hard to put the pressure on the Superoos.
A formidable Mitiamo mid-court and attack showed it’s a force to be reckoned with in an 87-21 victory.
The Jen Wilson-coached Mitiamo will be back on its court at John Forbes Oval to take on Pyramid Hill in next Saturday’s play.
It was a bye for the Maiden Gully YCW Eagles and coach Adam Boldiston.
The Eagles will be home at Marist College Oval in Maiden Gully to play Inglewood in the fifth round.
