Storm fronts up across all age groups

STRATHFIELDSAYE Storm is well-represented across all groups in this season’s Bendigo Bank Bendigo Junior Football League action.

Storm has 10 teams taking to the field each weekend.

There were some great results for Strathfieldsaye across the league’s round 14 action.

Among the highs was a 53-all draw between Storm and South Bendigo in the undr-16 seniors match at Triple M Park in Strathfieldsaye’s Tannery Lane.

Storm led 31-21 at half-time and scored three goals as it held the Bloods to a tally of 1.5 in the third quarter.

In the last it was South Bendigo which dominated play to score 3.3 as Storm added four behinds.

At the final siren the teams were locked on 7.11 (53).

Goalkickers for Storm were Aydan Hand, Cooper Lacey 2; Seamus Doherty, Charlie Elliott, Will Mayes.

Strathfieldsaye’s best were Jake Schubert, Archie Stevens, Will Mayes, Seamus Doherty, William Bartlett and Tyce Griffin.

It was a thrilling finish to the under-14 reserves, division one match between Strathfieldsaye and Kangaroo Flat at Enterprise Oval in Strathfieldsaye on Sunday.

Storm led 48-35 at half-time and then scored 4.2 to 3.3 in the last.

The Kangaroos bounced back brilliantly to kick 3.2 in the final term, but Storm’s tally of 1.1 was enough to clinch an 81-76 victory.

Goalkickers for Strathfieldsaye were Clifford Fitzgerald, four; Archer Horan and Jimi Read, two; Harry Evans, Kirk Garley, Tadhg O’Keefe and Kayden Storer.

Best for Storm were Clifford Fitzgerald, Jimi Read, Nash Kipping, Lenny Hancock, Tadhg O’Keefe and Archer Horan.

It was a seven-goal win for Strathfieldsaye in the under-16 reserves, division one match against Winslow White Hills Demons at White Hills.

Storm surged to a 32-9 lead by quarter-time.

The Demons fought back to win the second, 14-13.

A 28-point buffer for Storm at the start of the last became 42 by the end as it score 3.3 to 2.1 in the final term.

Goalkickers for Storm in an 85-43 victory were Ned Browell, Kaleb Hodgskiss 3; Mannix Grieve, Owen Perry 2; Flynn Maddren, Lucas Sharam, Tyson Turner.

Storm’s best were Nicholas Loorham, Nathan Jones-Stibbe, Jack DeAraugo, Jay Garley, Owen Perry and James Balic.

Strathfieldsaye was in great form in the under-15 girls seniors match against Kangaroo Flat.

The Storm won 133-13 at Enterprise Oval in Tannery Lane.

Dempsey McDonnell led Storm’s attack on four goals as Jorja Cunningham, Leila-Jean Fleming-Marsh, Seonah McGregor and Marlie Skinner added two each.

Other goalkickers were Chella Fitzgerald, Olivia Fitzpatrick, Rania Jackson-Leahy, Louise Khodja, Jordan O’Bree and Jasmin Wood.

Best for Strathfieldsaye were Rania Jackson-Leahy, Chella Fitzgerald, Jorja Cunningham, Louise Khodja, Seonah McGregor and Jordan O’Bree.

It was a tough morning for Storm in the under-15 girls reserves match against Kangaroo Flat at Enterprise Oval.

The Kangaroos leapt clear to lead 32-7 at half-time.

Another seven goals in the second half completed a 78-8 win for the Roos.

Kirra Molloy goaled for Storm.

Best for Strathfieldsaye were Mikayla Gladman, Isabelle Willows, Isabella Stevens, Molly Doherty, Zarah Peel and Lily Hearps.

A high-scoring match between Strathfieldsaye and Eaglehawk was played in the under-14 reserves, division three competition.

Storm and the Hawks clashed at California Gully.

Eaglehawk led 39-8 at quarter-time and kicked away to lead 72-15 by the long break.

Storm worked hard to score three goals in the second half, but the Hawks added 12.

At the final siren the Two Blues led 152-36.

Storm’s attack was led by Tyler Brown on four goals.

Best for Strathfieldsaye were Isaiah Oataway, Max Dooly, Tyler Brown, Mitchell Khodja, Thomas Oldham and Will James.

In the under-12A competition, Strathfieldsaye played the ladder-leading St Therese’s at Triple M Park.

The Sharks won 65-8 in a match where Solly Baker goaled for Strathfieldsaye.

Best for Storm were Wynn Jackson, Scout Davies, Cale Polson, Phoenix Macrae and Alex Kelly.

Strathfieldsaye marked a 55-3 victory against Eaglehawk Hawks in the under-12C match at Enterprise Oval.

Storm led 27-1 at half-time and then scored 4.4 in the second half.

Lennon Clark and William Martin kicked two goals for Strathfieldsaye as Harper Cregan, Nathaniel Hodgskiss, Bailey Kaye and Raven Menzel added one each.

Strathfieldsaye’s best were Teddy Taylor, William Martin, Lennon Clarke, Jackson Brasher, Nathaniel Hodgskiss and Harper Cregan.

Storm’s under-12E team made its way to Marist College Bendigo to take on Maiden Gully YCW Eagles.

The Eagles won 42-7.

Willis Mannix goaled for Strathfieldsaye as Hudson Steele, Landon Nankervis, Edward Smith, Hartley Resta and Pippa Scott were best.

Strathfieldsaye scored a big win against South Bendigo in the under-14 seniors match at Triple M Park.

Storm led 24-1 at quarter-time and 38-1 by half-time.

A closely-fought third term went Strathfieldsaye’s way, 16-12.

Storm scored three straight goals in the last to complete a 72-15 victory.

Eli Fennell and Spencer Worthington kicked two goals for Strathfieldsaye.

Other goalkickers were Charlie Giddings, Ollie Long, Jed Monaghan, Hudson Svanosio, Kobi Read, Jed Willis and Finn Worthington.
