HAY Lions clung to a seven-point when the siren sounded to end Saturday’s round nine clash with Wandella in Golden Rivers senior footy.
Heat was on Hay as Wandella led 13-3 at quarter-time in the Lions’ den.
The ladder-leading Hay struck back to win the second term, 26-15.
The Justin Robinson-coached Wandella had the Lions under the pump as the red and black held a seven-point lead going into the final term.
Led by the play of Fergus and Jack Cattanach, and Jack Stewart it was Hay which responded to the challenge.
As the Lions scored 4.3 in the last they kept the Bombers to a tally of 2.1.
Fergus and Jack Cattanach, and Jack Headon finished with two goals each as the Lions marked a 65-58 victory.
Wandella’s attack was led by Connor Carter, Justin Robinson and Sam Taylor on two each.
Best for the Lions included Dean Aylett, Cooper Scott and Dylan Collis.
Hay is jointly coached by Jason Aylett and James Moran.
Wandella’s best were Connor Jamieson, Connor Carter, Jarred Schlitz, Justin Robinson, Logan Tuohey and Jack Radcliffe.
Murrabit dominated on home turf against Moulamein.
The Blues led 32-18 at quarter-time and then scored six goals straight as they held the Swans to just two behinds in the second term.
Pressure from the Jack Shannahan-coached Murrabit did not let up as it won the third quarter, 26-14.
Moulamein hit back to score 2.2 as the Blues added 1.4 in the final term.
The in-form Adam Thomson kicked six goals as Joseph Zambelli booted four majors in a 104-49 victory by the Blues.
Other multiple goalkickers for Murrabit were James Stewart and Jack Shannahan on three and two.
Moulamein’s attack was led by co-coach Hayden Dalitz on two.
Best for Murrabit were James Russo, Adam Thomson, Ethan Slater, Ben Derbas, James Stewart and captain Ben Gillingham.
Jayden Haeusler, Trae Atkinson, Ely Miller, Will Gibson, Xander Hartland and Will Mertz were best for a Swans team which has Brodie Tonkin as co-coach.
Ultima passed the century mark in a 53-point win at Macorna.
The Kangaroos led 66-23 by half-time.
Macorna fought on to score three goals in the third as the Roos added 1.3.
Corey Grey kicked a match-high four goals as Josh Dwyer added three in a 103-50 victory by the Roos.
Other multiple goalkickers for Ultima were Bailey Codling and Ryan Devereux on two.
Macorna’s attack was led by Connor Burge on two.
Best for Ultima were Zac Cattlin, Caillum Brady, Matt Taverna, Ryan Devereux, Corey Grey and co-coach Mitch Seton-Stewart.
The Roos also have Kyle Symons as co-coach.
Best for Macorna were Tori Ferguson, Luke Gray, Reece Wissell, Broden Wishart, Toby Whinfield and Conner Burge.
The Tigers are jointly coached by Paul Longstaff and Shaun Haffenden.

In next Saturday’s 10th round it’s the Lions against the Tigers as Hay hosts Macorna from 2.25pm.
