THE unbeaten Birchip-Watchem Bulls set up victory against Sea Lake Nandaly by dominating the first half of Saturday’s round 10 clash in Goldacres North Central senior footy.
Back in the Bull pen at George Cartwright Oval, Birchip-Watchem led 21-11 at quarter-time and then scored 5.3 as the Tigers were held to a goal in the second term.
By half-time Bulls led the rematch of the ’24 grand finalists by 35 points.
Sea Lake Nandaly hit back to win the third term, 26-14.
With Meyrick Buchanan, Rhona Conboy and ruckman Hamish Hosking winning many contests, Birchip-Watchem kicked on for a 100-60 victory.
Buchanan capped a great match with four goals as Tom Gibson and Joseph Reid booted three each and Ben Edwards added two.
The Tigers’ attack was led by Max Cahoon with four as co-coach Bryce Delmenico booted two goals.
Best for the Ash Connick-coached Bulls included Daniel Bell and Tom Gibson.
Tigers’ co-coach Billy McInnes was best for the yellow and black along with Max Cahoon, Trent and Wade Donnan, Billy Poulton and Tyson McKenzie.
Charlton turned a four-point deficit at the start of the final term into a 13-point lead by the siren on St Arnaud’s turf at Lord Nelson Park.
The Mitch Collins-coached Charlton led 14-1 at quarter-time and 28-20 by the main break.
St Arnaud fired up to score 2.3 as it kept the Navies to a tally of three behinds in term three.
Led by the play of co-captain Ben Lanyon, Rhys Thompson and Mitch Collins, Charlton almost doubled its score in the final quarter to complete a 60-47 victory.
Ben Lanyon and Liam Collins led the Navies’ attack on two goals.
It was the same tally by Kurtis Torney for the Saints.
Best for Charlton included Elliott Fitzpatrick, Patrick Soulsby and Jed Thompson.
Thomas Bertalli, Owen Lowe, Kurtis Torney, Zac Phillips, coach Scott Driscoll, and Luke Jackson were St Arnaud’s best.
Calder United Lions marked a 47-point turnaround in the second half as it won 91-58 at Wedderburn’s Donaldson Park.
The Lions were down 37-51 at half-time of the clash with the Redbacks.
Calder won the third, 26-4, and then added another four goals in the final quarter.
After scoring seven goals in the first hour, Wedderburn did not add another major.
Lions’ co-coach Jordan Humphreys marked a timely return to form with five goals as Dale Pearce and Mitch Farmer kicked three and two majors.
Wedderburn’s attack was led by Mitch Jensen and Jye Mortlock on two.
Best for the Lions were George Turner, Daniel Watts, Thomas Trewin, Zane Keighran, Jordan Humphreys and Darcy Munro.
Formed by the merger of Nullawil and Wycheproof-Narraport, Calder United has multiple premiership-winning coach Darryl Wilson as non-playing co-coach.
Best for the Tom Metherell-coached Wedderburn were Jye Mortlock, Noah Furlong, Corey Lowry, Isaac and Oscar Holt, and Darcy Jackson.
Boort passed the 180-point mark against Donald at Boort Park.
The Dale Cameron-coached Magpies slammed on nine goals as it gained a 44-point lead by quarter-time.
Boort scored 19 goals across the next three quarters as Donald added one.
Jhye Baddeley-Kelly capped a superb match with nine goals as Kayne Rutley booted six in a 182-21 victory.
Other multiple goalkickers for the Magpies were Will Perryman, four; Jayden Dick, Jacob Mulquiny and Jack Smith on two.
Sam Arho kicked two goals for Donald.
Best for Boort were Lachlan Hall, Jayden Dick, Jhye Baddeley-Kelly, Kayne Rutley, Carlos Egan and Matt Austin.
Donald’s best were Josh Talty, Dyson Bell-Warren, coach Daniel Pearce, Luca Rice, Thomas Reekie and Charlie Campbell.

Highlight of next Saturday’s round 11 matches will be Calder United Lions against Birchip-Watchem in the clash of second and first at Nullawil from 2.30pm.
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers tackle the Boort Magpies from 2.30pm at Sea Lake.
Donald will be on home turf against St Arnaud.
It’s the Woosang Challenge as Charlton faces Wedderburn at Charlton Park.
