THE top four teams all marked big wins as the Champions IGA-backed CVFL senior women’s football league marked Indigenous Round across the weekend.
Round 13 kicked off with Friday night’s match between the Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons and Castlemaine at Scott Street in White Hills.
The Phil Murley-coached White Hills faced a huge challenge against the ladder-leaders.
Castlemaine won a closely-fought first quarter, 14-12.
From there it was the Jordan Cochrane-coached Castlemaine which kicked away.
As the Magpies scored 11 goals in the last three quarters the Demons added two points.
Castlemaine vice-captain Eloise Gretgrix kicked eight goals as Georgia Gordon and Brianna Burt added four and two majors in a 96-14 victory.
Best for Castlemaine were Jemma Finning, Eloise Gretgrix, Aisling Tupper, Brianna Burt, Georgia Gordon and Eillish Cumming.
Nadia Peebles, Sasha Pearce, Acacia and Chelsea Edwards, Tracey Anderson and Courtney Gibson played well for the red and black.
Closest match of the round was Sunday’s showdown between Marong and Golden Square at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park.
The Golden Square line-up won 47-nil as six players featured on the goalkicking list.
Best for the blue and gold were Tallulah Duffy, Bella Eddie, Caitie Williamson, Carly Geary, Taylah Moore and Maddie Ridsdale.
Marong’s best were Alex Campbell-Smith, Hayley Martiniello, Nikeah Anderson, Bianca Bourke, Alicia Turner and Alex Purdy.
The Panthers are jointly coached by Jimmy Evenden and Daniel Bourke.
Two other matches were played on Sunday.
North Bendigo faced Eaglehawk at Bendigo Club Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street.
The Bulldogs started well to goal through Kira Gibbons as the Hawks led 9-6 at quarter-time.
From there the Molly Metcalf-coached Eaglehawk seized control.
As the Two Blues added another 14 goals they kept the Bulldogs scoreless in a 100-6 victory.
Eaglehawk’s attack was led by Lilly Stevenson with four goals and Molly Pianta on three.
Other multiple goalkickers for the Borough were Shelby Faulkner, Kelly Mensforth and Freyja Pearce on two.
Best for Eaglehawk were Lucy El Hage, Molly Metcalf, Molly Pianta, Emily Field, Lilly Stevenson and Sophie Cullen.
Quetta Holloway-Jinks, Marguerita Murphy, Maddison Mansfield, Kira Gibbons and Shae-Lee Murphy-Burke were North Bendigo’s best.
The red, white and blue is jointly coached by Jaydene Burzacott and Zak Carter.
It was a ruthless performance by Sandhurst on Bendigo Thunder’s turf at Weeroona Oval.
The Dragons won 140-1.

Fourth in the premiership race, Sandhurst is jointly coached by Andrew Saladino and Liam Ireland.
Thunder is coached by Mick McInnes.

The 14th round in the CVFL senior women’s season kicks off with a Friday night match between Castlemaine and North Bendigo on July 19 at Bendigo Club Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street from 5.30pm.
Two matches will be played on Sunday, July 20 from 1pm.

Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons scored a 47-point victory on Eaglehawk’s turf at Canterbury Park.
The Demons led 13-7 at quarter-time and won term two, 15-1.
As White Hills scored four goals in the second half it kept the Hawks scoreless in a 55-8 result.
Tarliah Murphy led the Demons’ attack on three goals.
Kira Collins was on target for Eaglehawk.
Best for White Hills were Ella Watkins, Mikayla Gladman, Maci Gough, Belle Mapperson, Reagan Wirken and Tarliah Murphy.
Lana Ring, Zoe Hodgskiss, Kelly Neighbour, Olivia Bluemore, Imogen Wilson and Darcy Martin played well for the Borough.
Sandhurst charged to an 84-8 victory on Kangaroo Flat’s ground in Dower Park.
The Dragons led 19-7 at quarter-time after Maddyson Hewson was on target for the Roos.
Sandhurst scored another nine goals across the next three quarters.
Chloe Tweed was in great form and kicked four goals as Mia Maxted added three and Ryah Mackie kicked two.
Best for Sandhurst were Eva Cathrine, Milla Franklin, Mia Maxted, Poppy Wainwright, Chloe Tweed and Jasmine Mann.
Maddyson Hewson, Shelby Kitchingham, Eve Conroy and Tahlee Gray played well for the Kangaroos.
Details from the Strathfieldsaye and Golden Square match played in Storm territory at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane were not supplied.
