White Hills ups ante against Grasshoppers

WHITE Hills will aim for a high-pressure game against Colbinabbin in Saturday’s 16th round of A-grade netball in Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL action.

The Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons have home-court advantage in Scott Street as they take on the Grasshoppers from 2.30pm.

It’s second against first.

When these clubs met in round seven the Jen McIntyre-coached Colbinabbin charged to a 70-37 win at M.J. Morgan Oval.

Both teams take winning form into this match.

The Elly Lawton-coached White Hills won last Saturday’s clash with Mount Pleasant in Toolleen by eight goals.

Colbinabbin’s hot run rolled on as the green and gold beat North Bendigo by 48 goals at home.

Another big match on Saturday will be at Huntly’s Strauch Reserve where the Harlowe Huntly Hawks take on Mount Pleasant.

It’s fourth against third.

Back in round seven the Anthea McCleary-coached Mount Pleasant beat the Hawks by 13 goals.

The Hawks had the bye last round as Mounts took on the Demons.

A Huntly line-up coached by Ashlea Sherlock and Kym Bell will be keen to net a ninth win and build confidence leading into finals.

North Bendigo will be on its court at Bendigo Club Oval in Atkins Street to take on Heathcote from 1pm.

The Kiralee Kinder-coached Bulldogs took out the round seven match at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve by 16 goals.

A big day for North Bendigo includes a 300th club match for Alison Walsh who will be in defence in the B-reserve match.

The Anna Dundon-coached Heathcote was beaten 55-39 in last Saturday’s match with Elmore on what was Memorial Round and Purple Day for the Saints.

Elmore faces a danger game at home against Lockington Bamawm United.

The Bloods are against an opponent which has climbed off the bottom of the ladder by winning its past two matches.

As Elmore won at Heathcote last round, LBU scored a nine-goal win at home against Leitchville Gunbower.

In round seven Elmore fought on for a 45-41 win on Lockington’s court.

The Bloods are jointly coached by Cayde Hayes, playing, and Hayley Langdon, non-playing.

A confident LBU team coached by Kerryn Giorgianni and Shelby Stone has sights on a winning hat-trick.

Leitchville Gunbower has the bye.
