MITIAMO showed it will be tough to beat for the A-grade netball premiership in Saturday’s 18th round in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
The Superoos warmed up for the finals campaign by scoring a 32 goal win against Bridgewater.
In the clash of first and fourth it was Mitiamo which dominated play on its court at John Forbes Oval.
With sights on back-to-back premierships the Mitiamo line-up won 75-43.
The Abbey Battersby and Jess Kaur-coached Mitiamo has a rest in the first weekend of the finals.
Mitiamo will play the winner of the qualifying final between Pyramid Hill and Newbridge in the second semi.
It was a tough afternoon for Bridgewater on the Superoos’ court.
The Caz Wood and Olivia Hoiles-coached Bridgewater will now focus on Sunday’s elimination final against Marong in Mitiamo.
Two other teams bound for finals, Newbridge and Marong clashed last Saturday at Deepcore Drilling Oval in Newbridge’s Riverside Park.
Newbridge controlled a lot of the play in what became a 49-39 victory for the maroon and white.
The Newbridge team which is jointly coached by Selina Holland and Kirsty Gandy completes the home-away series on 11 wins and in third place.
Marong will aim to bounce back from defeat when it takes on Bridgewater in the elimination final.
The Panthers are coached by Bridget Willox.
Pyramid Hill warmed up for a qualifying final by dominating its home game against Maiden Gully YCW Eagles at Mitchell Park.
The Bulldogs poured in 84 goals and worked hard defensively to keep the Eagles to a tally of 24.
Pyramid Hill is jointly coached by Chelsea Emmerson, Simone Edgley and Laura Herbert.
The Leisa Barry-coached Eagles end the season on four wins and in seventh place.
Calivil United could not halt Bears Lagoon-Serpentine’s charge to victory.
Although the Cindy Portwine-coached Demons were on their court in Calivil it was the Bears who dominated.
The Demons beat the Bears in round nine, but the return match ended in a 66-34 win for a BLS team coached by Danielle O’Toole and Lara Clements.
Inglewood had the bye.
