After a successful 2025 Interleague football campaign, the Bendigo Football Netball League (BFNL) is pleased to announce the reappointment of Simon Rosa as Senior Interleague Coach and Jason Stevens as Under 18 Interleague Head Coach for the 2026 representative program.
The reappointment of Rosa and Stevens comes as the BFNL announced a multi-year Interleague agreement with the Ovens & Murray FNL with the first matchup scheduled for Saturday 23 May at the Queen Elizabeth Oval.
BFNL Manager Tom King said both coaches had earned widespread respect for their professionalism, preparation, and genuine passion for connecting with their players.
“Simon and Jason have consistently demonstrated the standards, leadership and vision we want associated with BFNL representative football,” King said. “Their ability to drive strong programs, connect with players and mentor the best talent in the BFNL makes them invaluable to our league.”
Rosa, a highly regarded figure in regional football circles, coached the 2025 BFNL Senior Interleague team to an overtime loss against the VAFA. Simon’s continued leadership ensures stability and strong direction as the BFNL prepares to again compete on the Interleague stage.
Stevens’ reappointment follows a successful 2025 Under 19’s Interleague campaign where he fostered strong connections with his players who were out matched against a classy VAFA squad.
Both appointments position the BFNL for another highly competitive interleague campaign in 2026 against the Ovens & Murray FNL on Saturday 23 May at the Queen Elizabeth Oval.
