BFNL Board confirmed for 2026 season

The Bendigo Football Netball League (BFNL) has confirmed its Board of Directors for the 2026 season following the League’s Annual General Meeting held on January 14, 2026.

The Board brings together a strong mix of experience, governance expertise and community connection, and will play a critical role in guiding the League through the next phase of its strategic direction.
The BFNL Board of Directors for 2026 is as follows:

• Keely McDonald
• Ellyse McNish
• Colin Rosa
• Rick Townsend

The BFNL congratulates those Directors that have been re-elected and those that have been elected for their first term on the Board.

As per the BFNL Constitution, a Chair of the BFNL will be elected by the Board at the first meeting of the Board held after the Annual General Meeting of the League.

In 2026, the Board will focus on aligning governance and decision-making with the BFNL Strategic Plan, with key priorities including competition growth, financial sustainability, strong club support, participation pathways and the ongoing AFL Victoria RAC Strategies Project.

The Bendigo Football Netball League sincerely thanks outgoing Directors, Prof. Carol McKinstry, Andy Walker and Sam McGee.

A pioneer of community sport governance, Carol has been a dedicated Board Member for 12 years including 10 years as Chair of the Board. Carol’s dedication, leadership and governance expertise has been pivotal to the BFNL’s progression and sustainability.

A Board member for more than 10 years, Andy always advocated for clubs in all Board decisions and was a key conduit between the League and the City of Greater Bendigo regarding BFNL Club facilities.
Sam McGee has provided the BFNL with more than 10 years’ service volunteering his legal expertise to the League and standing up for what was best for the League when required.
