KANGAROO Flat fought from 13-points down at half-time to win the under-15 girls match in week six of the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Junior Football League season.
The Kangaroos and Panthers played out a great match at Bendigo Mazda Oval in Kangaroo Flat’s Dower Park on Sunday.
By half-time it was Marong which led 14-1.
Kangaroo Flat worked hard to add three behinds as it kept the Panthers scoreless in the third term.
Despite an inaccurate 1.6 in the last it was enough for the Kangaroos to bound their way to a 16-14 victory.
Ruby Polglaise was on target for Kangaroo Flat.
Best for the green and white were Avah Munn, Hailee Hull, Sophie Sims, Mary-Jane Lees, Danielle Parry and Ruby Polglaise.
Kangaroo Flat took on White Hills in the under-16A match on the Roos’ ground at Bendigo Mazda Oval in Dower Park.
It was the Demons who raced to a 20-1 lead by quarter-time and was up 43-1 by the long break.
Quarter three went the way of the red and black, 14-3.
Kangaroo Flat never gave up and won the final term, 19-11, as the Demons took the premiership points in a 68-23 result.
Goalkickers for the Roos were Jackson Thatcher on two and Xavier Tingley.
Jackson Thatcher, Malakai Challis, Jett Lower, Max Gould, Charlie Scholes and Joshua Hermann Petersen were Kangaroo Flat’s best.
Kangaroo Flat kicked 22 goals in the under-14B win against Strathfieldsaye at Enterprise Oval in Strathfieldsaye’s Tannery Lane.
The Roos led 24-6 at quarter-time and 42-10 by the long break.
Eight goals by Kangaroo Flat in the third term was followed by another eight in the last to complete a 147-10 victory.
The Flat attack was led by Chase Brown on six goals as Levi Cole, Roman Grinter and Rydder Gudge slotted three each.
Henry John French kicked two majors as Mitchell Bird, Maddox Lower, Spencer Saltahiel and Ben Wilson were also on target.
A list of best players was not supplied.
The Kangaroos were on home turf at Bendigo Mazda Oval in Dower Park for the under-14C clash with White Hills.
The Roos goaled in the first quarter off the boot of Jagger McLean, but it was the Demons who controlled a lot of play on their way to a 63-9 victory.
Best for Kangaroo Flat were Leivi Wood, George Greenaway, Jemeriah Poki, Zeppelin Lewis, Zane McConville and Blake Sunderland.
Kangaroo Flat won the under-12D match against Mount Pleasant by 29 points.
The Mounts line-up led 9-3 at quarter-time before the Roos scored 3.4 in the second term to lead 25-9 at the break.
The Kangaroos won the next two quarters by margins of seven and six points to claim a 51-22 victory.
Goalkickers for Kangaroo Flat were Otis Mahon with two as Cooper Cass, Rhyder Collins, Sonny Hull, Logan Jackson and Charlie Sayers-Delahunty were also on target.
The Kangaroos’ best were Koby Carlton, Makenzie Barnes, Raine Whyman, Rhyder Collins, Otis Mahon and Meika Winspear.
