BRIDGEWATER thrashed Pyramid Hill by 15 goals in Saturday’s 11th round in Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley senior footy action.
The clash between second and third on Bridgewater’s ground was incredibly one-sided after quarter-time.
Bridgewater led 15-9 at the first break and then scored 6.3 as the Bulldogs added five behinds in the second term.
By half-time the Mean Machine had motored to a 40-point lead.
Bridgewater clicked to another gear as it slammed on six goals in the third quarter and kept Pyramid Hill to a major.
As the Lachie Sharp-coached Bridgewater scored another six goals in the last the Bulldogs replied with four goals.
Sharp capped a superb match with nine goals in a 134-44 victory.
Other multiple goalkickers for the Mean Machine were Oscar McKinley and Jack Neylon with three as Charlie Gibson kicked two.
The only multiple goalkicker for Pyramid Hill was Xavier Emmerson with two.
Bridgewater’s best were Luke Ellings, Joseph Mayes, Harry Conway, Lachie Sharp, Jack Neylon and Oscar McKinley.
Best for the Jarrod Fitzpatrick-coached Pyramid Hill were Brodie Carroll, Gavin James, Xavier Emmerson, Cameron Ross, Jayden Dick and Blake Gibson.
Marong overcame a slow start against Inglewood at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park to win by 58 points.
It was a great start by Inglewood which led 33-20 at quarter-time.
The James Flaherty-coached Marong struck back to win the second term, 33-10.
A high-scoring third quarter went the way of the Panthers by 20 points.
As Marong added five goals in the last the Blues added four behinds.
The Panthers were up 124-66 at the final siren.
Talented teenager Cooper Murphy capped a great match with six goals as Lachlan Lee and Shaun Knott added four and three majors.
Mischa Fraillon and Aaron Lister slotted two goals each for the Blues.
Best for Marong were Jimmy Gadsden, Kepler Thomson, Lachlan Lee, Brodie Hartland, Brad Matthews and Cooper Murphy.
Tom Kennedy, Aaron Lister, Liam Marciano, Will Allen, Lachlan Ford and Riley Murphy were best for the Jackson Hood-coached Inglewood.
A hat-trick of wins has lifted the Maiden Gully YCW Eagles to the sixth rung and a win behind Macorna.
An Eagles team coached by Shawn Filo, non-playing, and Angus Monfries, playing, dominated Saturday’s showdown with Newbridge at Marist College Oval in Maiden Gully.
An evenly-fought first term went the way of the Eagles, 22-13.
Maiden Gully YCW won the second, 15-3, and then upped its play in the third.
As the Eagles scored five goals in term three they kept Newbridge scoreless.
The final quarter went Maiden Gully YCW’s way, 32-22.
Todd Delahey marked his return to the team by kicking five goals as Mitch Hill slotted three and Tyler Kinnane and Angus Monfries added two each.
There were no multiple goalkickers for Newbridge.
Best for Maiden Gully YCW Eagles were Tye Bedford, Mitch Hill, Anthony Robins, Mitch Whitham and Lewis Pigdon.
Max Edwards, Declan Campbell, coach Jayden Cordy, Kyan Dooley, Jon Coe and Elliot Bird were Newbridge’s best.
Bears Lagoon-Serpentine broke a five-match losing streak in a 43-point win at Calivil.
The Bears led 20-7 at quarter-time and 36-9 by the long break.
A high-scoring third term featured eight goals by BLS and five by the Demons.
Up by 45 points going into the final quarter, Bears Lagoon-Serpentine scored 2.1 in the last as Calivil United added 2.3.
The Jake Wilkinson-coached Bears led 97-54 at the siren.
Luke Crawford and Farran Priest led the BLS attack on three goals each as Jaxon Addlem and Jake Wilkinson kicked two apiece.
Leading goalkicker for the Sam Maher-coached Demons was Henry McCarthy on three.
Best for the Bears were Jaxon Addlem, Jake Wilkinson, Andy Gladman, Ross Turner, Luke Crawford and Nathan Twigg.
Calivil United’s best were Jack Maher, Liam Stephens, Rhys Lourie, Josh Connolly, Ryan Strauch and Will Allan.
The Tigers from Macorna charged to a 106-point victory on Mitiamo’s turf at John Forbes Oval.
Term one went Mitiamo’s way, 13-9.
Although coach Fergus Payne did not play because of a hamstring injury it did not affect Macorna greatly as the yellow and black slammed on 10 goals in the second to lead 74-15 at the long break.
Quarters three and four went Macorna’s way, 37-7, and 25-8.
At the final siren the Tigers led 136-30.
Dimitri Fasoulis dominated in the forward 50m arc to slot nine goals for Macorna as Seb Erharter and Spiros Sklavenitis slotted two each.
There was no multiple goalkicker for the Superoos.
Best for Macorna were Kieran Foley, Sam and Toby Whinfield, Dimitri Fasoulis, Josh Whittle and Cooper Carmichael.
Mitiamo’s best were Zak Myers, Ryan Duncan, Zach Morrison, coach Luke Lougoon, Oliver McMinn and Josh Diss.

In the netball…….MARONG and Inglewood played out a 53-all draw in Saturday’s 11th round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
The result on the Panthers’ court at Jackal Oval in Malone Park meant Marong climbed to the fifth rung on the ladder.
It was a superb effort by the Bridget Willox and Bianca Garton-coached Marong to draw this contest as Inglewood had won the round two match at Centre State Scaffolding Oval by 10 goals.
The Dani O’Toole-coached Inglewood holds third place on the ladder.
Bridgewater was in hot form on its court against Pyramid Hill.
The Carly Wild and Lou Dupuy-coached Bridgewater marked a 65-46 victory against the Bulldogs which put the red, white and blue out of the top five.
It was a remarkable turnaround from earlier in this season when Pyramid Hill beat the Mean Machine at Mitchell Park by three goals.
The Chelsea Emmerson, Amber Dingwall and Darci Tierney-coached Pyramid Hill will make its way to Marist College Oval next Saturday to play Maiden Gully YCW Eagles.
An Eagles’ team coached by Christie Griffiths will be on the rebound from a 43-goal loss to Newbridge.
Although Maiden Gully YCW was on its court it could not halt the Hayley Martiniello-coached Newbridge charging to an 81-38 result.
Unbeaten in its quest for a premiership hat-trick, Mitiamo poured in 75 goals on its court at John Forbes Oval against Macorna.
The Jen Wilson-coached Superoos capped off great teamwork through mid-court and into the goalking arc to claim a 75-23 win against the Tigers.
The Brooke Allison-coached Macorna will head to Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve next Saturday to play the Bears.
Calivil United chalked up its fifth win of the season.
The Annie Blow and Alex Ingram-coached Demons won 64-47 at home against Bears Lagoon-Serpentine.
It’s been a tough run for the Erin Varker-coached Bears who had played Mitiamo, Inglewood and Marong the previous three rounds.
