GOLDEN Square blitzed Sandhurst in Sunday’s round 14 match in the Champions IGA-backed CVFL senior women’s footy season.
It was first against third as the Bulldogs and Dragons played at Gourmet Pantry Oval in Golden Square’s Wade Street.
On the rebound from just its second defeat of the season, Golden Square kicked five straight goals and kept Sandhurst scoreless in the first half.
Four goals in the second term was followed by six in the third as the blue and gold led 95-6 going into the final term.
The Darren Walsh-coached Golden Square won the last quarter, 20-nil, on the way to a 115-6 victory.
A five-goal haul by Gabby Drage lifted her season tally to 52.
Other multiple goalkickers were Kira Gibbons and Lucy Gilbee, four; and Taylah Moore, two.
Sandhurst’s sole goal was kicked by Charlotte Scanlon in the second quarter.
Best for Golden Square were Taylah Moore, Lily Mansfield, Kira Gibbons, Dani Jeffery, Molly Forde and Gabby Drage.
Lily and Ruby Campbell, Madison Johnston, Phoebe Cuttriss, Maddy White and Chloe Swatton were best for the Liam Ireland and Andrew Saladino-coached Sandhurst.
The round kicked off with Friday night’s match between Eaglehawk and Castlemaine at C and M Oval in Eaglehawk’s Canterbury Park.
The Hawks could not halt the Magpies after quarter-time.
An evenly-fought first term went Castlemaine’s way, 10-2.
From there the Jordan Cochrane-coached Castlemaine scored 9.7 as the Borough added 1.1.
Eloise Gretgrix kicked five goals as Jemma Finning slotted two in a 71-9 win by the Magpies.
Kelly Mensforth was on target for Eaglehawk.
Best for Castlemaine were Eloise Gretgrix, Alice D’Arcy, Jemma Finning, Aisling Tupper, Taylah Sartori and Emma Pedretti.
Eaglehawk’s best were Grace Edlin, coach Molly Metcalf, Neve Nisbet, Taylah Nicholson, Monique Gavriliadis and Lexie Moss.
White Hills racked up 29 scoring shots in its clash at home in Scott Street against Bendigo Thunder.
The Demons scored four goals in the opening quarter and added six, four, and five in the next three terms.
When the final siren sounded White Hills led 124-nil in the Sunday showdown.
The Demons’ attack was led by Sasha Pearce, five; Acacia Edwards, four; Kadeisha Smith, three; Carine Comer and Ella Henery, two.
Best for White Hills were Carine Comer, Sasha Pearce, Kadeisha Smith, Holly Smith, Maiya Pearce and Acacia Edwards.
The Demons are jointly coached by Sharni Barker and Allara Jackson.

Marong forfeited its match with Wedge-Tailed Eagles which was to have been played on Sunday at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park.

Kangaroo Flat capped a great final-quarter fightback to draw the round 11 match in the Champions IGA-backed CVFL under-18 girls footy match against Echuca United on Sunday.
The Kangaroos claimed their first premiership points of the season as they slammed on 5.2 and kept Echuca United scoreless in the last quarter at Bendigo Mazda Oval in Dower Park.
Echuca United led 42-10 going into the final term, but could not halt the Kangaroos’ charge.
Scores were 42-all at the final siren.
The Kangaroos’ attack was led by Matilda Rose and Ruby Sanders McMahon with two goals each.
Jada Dennis kicked a match-high four goals for the Echuca United Eagles.
Best for Kangaroo Flat were Mackenna and Miller Lindrea, Melanie White, Ruby Sanders McMahon, Abigail Sendy, and Lora Soko.
Echuca United’s best were Lily Dunham, Jada Dennis, Charlie Martin, Julia Taranto, Zarlia Jenkins and Isabella Nathan.
It was a thrilling finish to the White Hills and Storm clash at the Scott Street ground in White Hills.
The Demons were a goal down going into the final quarter.
As the red and black scored 2.2 in the last it kept Storm to a tally of 1.1.
White Hills led 40-39 when the siren sounded.
Demons’ captain Jayda Alford led the attack on three goals as Maleah Alford and Layla O’Brien were also on target.
Marlie Skinner and Jasmin Wood slotted two goals for Storm as Jorja Cunningham added another.
Best for White Hills were Louise Khodja, Maleah and Jayda Alford, Kassidy Cail and Reagan Wirken.
Storm’s best were Akiva Morrissey, Jorja Cunningham, Scarlett Ward, Kirra Molloy, Jasmin Wood and Molly Manton.

The ladder-leading Woorinen scored a 58-point victory in Sunday’s home game against Marong.
The Tigers led 20-1 at quarter-time and did not let up.
As Woorinen kicked 9.10 the Panthers finished on 0.6.
Prue O’Sullivan and Zoe Brooks capped off the Tigers’ moves with four and three goals.

Sandhurst dominated play on Golden Square’s ground at Gourmet Pantry Oval in Wade Street.
The Dragons charged to a 23-6 lead by quarter-time and was up 62-6 by the long break.
Macey Pinner, Ruby Kelly and Elke Fletcher led the way in a 112-7 result.
Sandhurst’s attack was led by Elle Gilchrist, Moanarose Moefaauo, Etta and Tully Place on three goals each.
