THE school squads keep on learning in every match they play across the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Junior Football League season.
There are eight school teams who compete in the various grades of the under-12 competition.
St Francis and St Therese’s are represented by three teams, and St Monica’s by one.
St Kilian’s and St Peter’s join forces to field an under-12C team.
It’s been a great run by St Francis Green which leads the under-12 Girls ladder.
Round 11 kicked off last Friday night.
St Francis Green played South Bendigo at Harry Trott Oval in Kennington.
The St Francis line-up won 33-nil.
Lotti Childs led the attack on two goals.
A list of best players for St Francis Green was not supplied.
St Francis was on home turf at Francis Oval in Saturday’s under-12A match against South Bendigo.
The young Bloods won 48-22.
Goalkickers for St Francis were Quade Baker, William Hearps and Josh Rodda.
Tim Jennings, Quade Baker, Jude Fraser, Beau Wright, Banjo Place and James Shadbolt were best for the St Francis team.
In the under-12D competition, St Francis played Kangaroo Flat on Francis Oval.
The Kangaroos marked an 86-12 victory.
Jackson Crapper and Felix Parker were on target for St Francis.
Best for St Francis were Billy Barnes, Arlo Jackson-Leahy, Oliver Prowse, Finn Dubyna, Rupert Stewart-Eeles and Billy Harrop.
It was a great match between Quarry Hill and St Kilian’s-St Peter’s in the under-12 competition.
Quarry Hill won 38-35 on its ground at Ken Wust Reserve.
Goalkickers for St Kilian’s-St Peter’s were George Kornmann on three and Darcy Fitt on two.
George Kornmann, Zane Chandler, Massimo Gill, Henry Howitt, Cove McLean and Heath Barbere were best for St Kilian’s-St Peter’s.
St Monica’s scored a 46-point win against Golden Square at Crusoe College in Kangaroo Flat.
The Kangaroos led 59-13 at the final siren.
Fletcher Andrews and Jenson Monti led the St Monica’s attack on two goals as Sam Miller, Ezra Ratcliff, George Sheldon and Brodie Williams were also on target.
Best for St Monica’s were Sam Miller, Fletcher Andrews, Jasper Duguid, Elodie Hoyland, Brodie Williams and George Sheldon.
The under-12 Girls team from St Therese’s played Rochester at Bendigo’s Ewing Park.
It was the Rochester Tigers who roared in a 31-14 victory against the Sharks.
Goalkickers for St Therese’s were Zinea Griffiths and Eloise Power.
Best for the Sharks were Eloise Power, Skyller Brielle Mercado, Zinea Griffiths, Eden Haythorpe, Audrey Smith and Mary Edwards.
St Therese’s marked a one-goal win against Maiden Gully YCW Eagles in the under-12A match played at Ewing Park.
Parker Findlay and Brad Ladson kicked two goals each as Mack Bremner, Mason Cluff and Lenny Gretgrix capped off great play by their Sharks team-mates.
Best for St Therese’s were Parker Findlay, Brad Ladson, Thomas Miller, Fynn McInerney, Marcus K, and Lenny Edwards.
Just five points separated St Therese’s and Maryborough in the under-12C match at Ewing Park.
It was 14-all at half-time before the Sharks led 30-20 going into the last quarter.
St Therese’s held on for a 31-26 victory.
Rocket Westley kicked two goals for the Sharks as Hamish Crawford and Mark Ruy were also on target.
Best for the Sharks were Mark Ruy, Lenny Childs, Rocket Westley, Percy Jones, Jack Haythorpe and Kai Griffin.
