BRIDGEWATER coach Lachie Sharp has marked another century of goals as he reached the feat in Saturday’s 15th round in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
Sharp’s dozen in a big win against Maiden Gully YCW Eagles at Marist College Oval was one of several outstanding goalkicking feats on the day.
Pyramid Hill’s Jhye Baddeley-Kelly kicked 17 goals in a 103-point win by the Bulldogs on Mitiamo’s ground at John Forbes Oval.
The ladder-leading Bridgewater dominated in the Eagles’ nest.
The Mean Machine led 39-17 at quarter-time and added another six goals in the second to be up 80-25 at the main break.
Pressure from Bridgewater against a young Maiden Gully YCW team did not let up.
Nine goals by the ladder leaders in the third was followed by another 10 in the last.
At the final siren Bridgewater led 202-33.
Sharp slotted 12 goals as Oscar McKinley kicked five and Oliver Watt added four as the Machine powered to a 169-point win.
Andy Collins marked his return to Bridgewater’s senior team by kicking three goals as Luke Ellings, Tyler Estrada and Darcy Wood added two each.
The Eagles’ attack was led by Lincoln Hancock with two.
Bridgewater’s best were Oliver Watt, Joseph Mayes, Luke Ellings, Oscar McKinley, Lachie Sharp and Andy Collins.
Lewis Pigdon, Anthony Robins, Isaac Neretlis, Sean Moyle, Mitch Hill and Josh Worsley were best for the Eagles.
Maiden Gully YCW is coached by Shawn Filo, non-playing, and former Essendon and Port Adelaide mid-forward Angus Monfries who did not play in this match.
A 17-goal haul by Pyramid Hill gun recruit Jhye Baddeley-Kelly capped Pyramid Hill’s big win at Mitiamo’s John Forbes Oval.
The Jarrod Fitzpatrick-coached Bulldogs scored seven straight goals in the first to be up 42-2 at the break.
A closely-fought second term went Pyramid Hill’s way, 26-12.
The Bulldogs slammed on 10 goals in the third quarter.
Mitiamo never gave up and scored five straight goals to win the last term by four points.
At the final siren the Bulldogs led 159-56.
Baddeley-Kelly was in outstanding touch as Zach Alford, Jaxon Elso and Will Quinlivan kicked two goals each.
Mitiamo’s attack was led by Koby Gibson with three goals as Bryce Laird and Zach Morrison kicked two each.
Best for Pyramid Hill were Jhye Baddeley-Kelly, Ryan McGhie, Will Quinlivan, Zach Alford, Brodie Carroll and Lachlan Sidebottom.
Anthony Huismann, Zach Morrison, Dylan Marshman, Kobe Galvin, Daniel and Scott Baldwin were best for the Luke Lougoon-coached Superoos.
Bears Lagoon-Serpentine rocked the top-five aspirations of Newbridge as the Bears scored a 63-point win at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve.
The Jake Wilkinson-coached Bears led 26-21 at quarter-time and then scored six goals in the second to be up 66-34 at the long break.
The team in purple and gold held a seven-goal buffer going into the last term.
As BLS added five goals straight in the final quarter it kept the Maroons to a tally of 1.3.
Luke Crawford capped a great match with five goals as Andy Gladman and Nathan Twigg booted three each in a 121-58 victory.
The Bears also had Jaxon Addlem and Farran Priest kick two majors.
Newbridge’s attack was led by Declan Campbell and Brodie Carr on two each.
The Bears’ charge to victory was led by Nathan Twigg, Jaxon Addlem, Callum Draper, Llogan Mayman, Luke Crawford and Tom Hawker.
Best for the Jayden Cordy-coached Newbridge were Declan Campbell, Dylan Lloyd, Ricky Cathie, James Blood, Zebb Murrell and Blake Wells.
Inglewood scored an eight-goal win on Calivil United’s ground.
The Jackson Hood-coached Inglewood turned a 16-point lead at quarter-time into a 26-point buffer by the long break.
As Inglewood scored 2.5 in the third it worked hard to hold the Demons to a tally of 1.1.
Riley and Tyler Murphy, Daniel Polack and Charlie Aitken played key roles as Inglewood kicked on for a 96-48 victory.
Tarran Kilcullen kicked five goals for the Blues as Bregon Cotchett booted two.
The Demons’ attack was led by Henry McCarthy and Cody Thompson with two each.
Inglewood’s best included Liam Marciano and Tarran Kilcullen.
Liam Stephens, Tyler Rasmussen, Jack Maher, Riley Walsh, Cody Thompson and Henry McCarthy were best for the Sam Maher-coached Demons.
Reigning premier Marong marked a 13-goal win against Macorna at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park.
The Panthers charged to a 45-7 lead by quarter-time.
Both teams scored 4.6 in an entertaining second term.
The Fergus Payne-coached Macorna worked hard to win term three, 25-20.
In the last it was Marong which dominated centre breaks and stoppages to slam on eight goals on its way to a 147-68 victory.
Seven goals by Cooper Hale earnt best on ground honours for Marong as Ray McNamara kicked three goals and Noah McCaig, Wil Thomson and Matt Willox added two each.
Macorna’s attack was led by Keiran Foley on four goals as Xavier Wishart kicked three.
Best for the James Flaherty-coached Marong were Cooper Hale, Jimmy Gadsden, Jai Gretgrix, Ryley Taylor, Matt Willox and Oliver Macartney.
Matt Colak, Sam Whinfield, Kieran Foley, Josh Whittle, Dimitri Fasoulis and Xavier Wishart were best for the Tigers.

In the netball action……..MITIAMO was too strong for Pyramid Hill in Saturday’s round 15 match in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL A-grade netball match.
In the second of the rematches between the ’25 grand finalists it was Mitiamo which controlled a lot of play on its court at John Forbes Oval.
The Jen Wilson-coached Mitiamo led 66-51 at the final siren.
Defeat has put Pyramid Hill six points behind the fifth-placed Inglewood at three rounds to go in the home-and-away series.
The Chelsea Emmerson, Amber Dingwall and Darci Tierney-coached Pyramid Hill faces a huge task to qualify for this season’s finals.
Inglewood marked a crucial win on Calivil United’s court.
The Dani O’Toole-coached Inglewood won 63-55 to now be six points clear of Pyramid Hill.
Although it was beaten there was a lot to like about the play of a Calivil United team coached by Annie Blow and Alex Ingram.
Second and third in the premiership race, Bridgewater and Newbridge scored emphatic wins.
The Bridgewater team won 79-38 on the Maiden Gully YCW Eagles’ court at Marist College Oval.
