Eagles, Hawks in fight to claim finals berth

THE Wedge-Tailed Eagles or Eaglehawk will qualify for the Champions IGA-backed CVFL senior women’s footy finals after this Sunday’s 18th round in the home-and-away series.

Both teams are perched on 32 points, but it’s the Eagles who cling to the fourth rung on percentage from the Hawks.

In the last of the preliminary rounds the Phil Hawkes-coached Wedge-Tailed Eagles will play Sandhurst from noon at Woodend’s Racecourse Reserve.

When these clubs met in Pride Round it was Sandhurst which stormed to an 89-2 victory in Woodend.
