MALLEE Eagles soared to a 15-goal victory against Cohuna Kangas in Saturday’s play to complete the split 14th round in Radio 3SH Central Murray senior footy.
The Harry Allen-coached Eagles charged to a 44-nil lead by quarter-time on Cohuna’s ground.
It was an evenly-fought second term as Mallee added 3.3 and the Kangas kicked back with a tally of 3.1.
Mallee led 80-27 going into the final term.
As the Eagles slammed on six goals in the last they kept Cohuna to a point.
Darcy Hourigan and Jacob O’Meara kicked four goals each as Ethan Pinchen and Toby Sheahan chipped in with two each in a 121-28 victory.
The Kangas had no multiple goalkickers.
Best for Mallee Eagles were Jack Landt, Billy O’Meara, Toby Sheahan, Hamish Hosking, Tom McGregor and Marcus Wattie.
Cohuna’s best were Chris Anderson, Sam McGlone, coach Jack Geary, Ricky Monti, Charlie Ford and Lachlan English.
It was a 37-point win for Lake Boga on Wandella’s turf.
The Justin Robinson-coached Wandella started well to lead 21-14 at the long break.
Lake Boga hit back to win term two, 22-nil.
The Dean Helmers-coached Magpies won the third, 18-8.
Lake Boga added another three goals in the last to complete a 74-37 victory.
Brad Padmore led the Magpies’ attack on three goals as Rex Hickman and Jayden Lonergan kicked two each.
Five players slotted a goal for Wandella.
A list of Lake Boga’s best was not supplied.
Nathan Boysen, Connor Jamieson, Justin Robinson, Darcy Ramage, Tim Robinson and Gregor Knight played well for the Bombers.
There were big wins for reigning premier, Woorinen, and the unbeaten Nyah Nyah West United.
Woorinen was on home turf against Tooleybuc Manangatang.
The Tim Free-coached Tigers led 34-17 at quarter-time and then dominated the second term.
As the yellow and black scored six goals it kept the Saints to a point.
By half-time Woorinen was up 75-18.
Six goals in the third and another five in the last completed a 160-55 win for the Tigers.
Leading goalkickers for Woorinen included Will Collicoat and Jose Miliado on five each.
The Saints’ attack was led by co-coach Nayef Hamad on two.
Woorinen’s best were Henry Thompson, Jye Barry, Lachlan Gardner, Rhys Cason, Jose Miliado and Will Collicoat.
Best for Tooleybuc Manangatang were Gareth Grant, Jesse Gosman, Nayef Hamad, co-coach Robbie McComb, Jedd Morris and Luke McComb.
Balranald faced a red-hot Nyah Nyah West United.
Although the Kangaroos had home-ground advantage at Greenham Park they could not halt the Demons charging to a 113-point victory.
The Demons led 42-1 at quarter-time and then won the second term, 38-8.
Most even quarter was the third where NNWU scored 4.4 and Balranald added 1.1.
Charlie Boulton and Alex Erlandson kicked five goals each as Jonathon Ross, John Summerhayes and Liam White slotted two each in a 143-30 victory.
The Kangaroos’ attack was led by Ben Fuller on two.
Best for the Corey Daniels-coached NNWU Demons were Ethan Saville, Joel Walsh, Blake Larkings, Jack Palmer, Dominic Gallo and Alex Erlandson.
Liam Farnsworth, Ryan Middlebrook, Bob Helgeland, Ian Fuller, Jacob Zanker and Ben Fuller played well for the Brent Macleod-coached Kangaroos.
In the previous Saturday’s start to the split 14th round, Moulamein scored a 101-point win at Ultima, and Hay beat Kerang by 47 points in the Lions’ den.
Koondrook Barham won by 15 goals at Murrabit.
First match in the round was on King’s Birthday weekend on June 6 when Tyntynder beat Swan Hill at Alan Garden Reserve by four points.
