THE Nyah Nyah West United Demons have marked an unbeaten run into the Radio 3SH Central Murray senior footy finals series.
It was a 15th victory in succession for the Corey Daniels-coached NNWU Demons in last Saturday’s clash with Cohuna Kangas at Nyah Recreation Reserve.
Cohuna made a great start to be up 19-9 at quarter-time.
The Demons fired up to win the second term, 33-31, but it was the Kangas who led 50-42 at the long break.
As it added four goals in the third quarter, Nyah Nyah West United worked hard to limit the Kangas to a tally of 1.5
The Demons then won the last, 26-19, on their way to a 95-80 victory.
Beau Schwarze led the NNWU attack on four goals as Charlie Boulton booted three.
Lachlan Ritchie and Jonathon Ross added two goals each for the red and blue.
Chris Anderson, Charlie Ford, Ricky Monti and Thomas Toma all kicked two goals for the Jack Geary-coached Cohuna Kangas.
Best for NNWU were Ethan Saville, Jack Palmer, Beau Schwarze, Zack Threadgold, Scott Carlin and Jonathon Ross.
Cohuna’s best were Chris Anderson, Ricky Monti, Sam McGlone, Travis Ford, Thomas Toma and Charlie Ford.
The Demons and Kangas meet again in next Saturday’s first qualifying final at Swan Hill Recreation Reserve.
Hay fought on for a one-point victory on Lake Boga’s ground.
The Hay Lions led 23-12 at quarter-time.
Lake Boga scored six goals in the second and kept the Lions to just two majors.
By half-time the Dean Helmers-coached Magpies had soared to a 50-36 lead.
Hay hit back to win the third, 33-20.
A thrilling final quarter went the way of the Lions, 15-13, to be up 84-83 at the final siren.
Declan Watson led Hay’s attack on three goals as Dean Aylett, Tom Banuelos, Jack Headon and James Lugsdin kicked two each.
Bryce Anderson kicked three goals for Lake Boga as Jayden Lonergan, Chad O’Sullivan and Braden Padmore finished on two goals apiece.
Best for Hay were Jim Houston, James Lugsdin, Tom Banuelos, Jack and Fergus Cattanach and Dean Aylett.
Rex Hickman, Chad O’Sullivan, Nathaniel Holmes-Brown, Braden Padmore, Willem Pye and Xavier Sherlock were Lake Boga’s best.
A Hay line-up coached by Mick Cattanach and James Moran will play Kerang in next Sunday’s first elimination final at Swan Hill Recreation Reserve.
Moulamein overcame a nine-point deficit at the start of the last quarter to score a five-point win at home against Swan Hill.
The clash of two flocks of Swans was 28-all at half-time before the Jason Murphy-coached Swan Hill won the third term, 24-15.
Moulamein fired up to score 3.4 and worked hard to limit the visitors to a tally of 1.2 in the last.
At the final siren it was the Brodie Tonkin and Hayden Dalitz-coached Moulamein which led 65-60.
Thomas Worthley led Moulamein’s attack on three goals.
Leading goalkickers for Swan Hill were Bodhi Kelly and Xavier Moloney on three each as Buol Majur kicked two.
Moulamein’s best were Peter Costanzo, Xander Hartland, Mark Drotsky, Billy Bowes, William Doquile and Josh Wills.
Swan Hill’s best were Lane Cardenas, Tom Smith, Xavier Moloney, Bodhi Kelly, Matt Gillbee and Liam Thornton.
The Tooleybuc Manangatang Saints scored a five-goal win against Balranald in Tooleybuc.
It was the Kangaroos who skipped away to lead 30-22 at quarter-time and 42-31 by the long break.
The Saints fought back strongly to win the third term, 35-13.
By the last change it was Tooleybuc Manangatang which held an 11-point buffer.
Another five goals in the last sealed a 100-70 victory.
Josh Chatfield led the Saints’ attack on five goals as Luke McComb and co-coach Robbie McComb added three each, and co-coach Nayef Hamad booted two majors.
Ben Fuller kicked a match-high six goals as Ian Fuller added two majors for the Brent Macleod-coached Kangaroos.
Best for the Saints were Nick Ryan, Nayef Hamad, Gareth Grant, Jedd Morris, Josh Chatfield and Kallum Hazlett.
Balranald’s best were Archie Alderuccio, Ben Fuller, Ryan Middlebrook, Kane Agius, Brandon Gardiner and Tom Salau.
In the battle of the Blues brothers it was Kerang which scored a 25-goal win on its turf at Riverside Park against Murrabit.
The Brad Pay-coached Kerang led 31-1 at quarter-time and 64-8 by the long break.
Quarter three was to be Murrabit’s best as it scored two goals, but Kerang replied with seven goals.
Zak Bozanich went on to kick eight goals in a 171-21 victory as Liam Jardine added four goals.
Other multiple goalkickers were Hugh Bremner and Tyson Clingan on three each and Nicholas Oliver with two.
Murrabit’s goals were off the boot of Cruz Jolliffe, co-coach Jack Shannahan, and Adam Thomson.
Best for Kerang were Josh Hunter, Zak Bozanich, Hugh Bremner, Cody Makeham, Jack Sullivan and Leigham McAlpin.
Jack Shannahan, Leo Ellison, Sam Copland, Tomas Boustead, Adam Thomson and Ryan Harvey were best for Murrabit which had Rick Ladson as non-playing co-coach.
Koondrook Barham marked a 76-point win against Ultima in Barham.
The Marcus Demaria-coached River Raiders won a high-scoring first quarter, 43-21.
Heat was on as the Joel Donnan-coached Ultima scored four goals and kept the KB line-up to just two points in term two.
By half-time Ultima was up 46-45.
It was an 11-goal blitz by Koondrook Barham in the third term which put the result beyond doubt.
The River Raiders led by 65 points going into the last term which it won 29-18.
Clayton McCartney kicked six goals as Kye Attwell added five in a 142-66 victory.
Other multiple goalkickers were Harry Bremner, three; and Liam Read and Jack Shannon, two.
Andrew Dean led Ultima’s attack on four goals.
Best for Koondrook Barham were Harry Bremner, Thomas German, Kye Attwell, Cameron Anderson, Nathan O’Toole and Ryan Bassett.
Ultima’s best were Max Fawcett, Darcy Farrell, Zac Cattlin, Andrew Dean, Jye Purtill and Thomas Isma.
It was a daunting task for Tyntynder against reigning premier Woorinen.
The Bulldogs and Tigers clash at Swan Hill’s Alan Garden Reserve.
Woorinen raced to a 46-6 lead by quarter-time and then won the second, 43-6.
As the Tim Free-coached Tigers slammed on eight goals in the third they kept the Bulldogs to a point.
An 11-goal blitz in the last completed a 210-13 victory for the yellow and black.
Tom Langford kicked eight goals in a best afield performance as Rhys Cason, Will Collicoat, Sam Hilton-Joyce and Hugh Thompson kicked four each and Jamie Nicholas added three.
Zac Denham and Jack Woodward were on target for Tyntynder.
Best for Woorinen were Tom Langford, Rhys Cason, Robert Rush, Henry and Hugh Thompson, and Lachlan Gardner.
Elia Ware, Josh Potter, Sam Bull, Charlie Blake, Mitch Kelly and Tate Hulland were best for the Darcy Bibby-coached Bulldogs.
The Mallee Eagles warmed up for another finals campaign by scoring a 228-point win at home against Wandella.
The Eagles scored 35.20 and kept the Bombers to just two behinds.
Mallee’s best quarter was the second where it slammed on 13 goals.
The Eagles added eight in the third and nine in the last.
Jacob O’Meara led Mallee’s attack on eight goals as Marcus Wattie and Cody Henness slotted six and four goals.
Eagles’ coach Harry Allen, Jared Greenbank and Darcy Hourigan kicked three goals each as Beau Bennett and Toby Sheahan chipped in with two each.
Best for Mallee were Marcus Wattie, Beau Bennett, Jacob O’Meara, Jared Greenbank, Billy O’Meara and Clem Miller.
Wandella’s best were Nathan Boysen, coach Justin Robinson, Will Hogg, Darcy Ramage, Seth Rowe and Connor Jamieson.
