CALIVIL United ended Pyramid Hill’s winning start to the A-grade netball season in Saturday’s third round of the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League action.
The Demons marked the trek to Pyramid Hill by scoring a hard-fought eight goal win.
Determined to hit back after a loss at Marong and then at home to Maiden Gully YCW Eagles, Calivil United won 37-29 at Mitchell Park.
After a winless run in 2019, Pyramid Hill started this campaign in superb form.
The Hill’s line-up won at Inglewood at home in round one and followed up with a 29-goal win at Newbridge.
On Saturday it was the Demons who took the points at Pyramid Hill.
After a lengthy wait to play, Bridgewater was in hot form against Inglewood at Laser Plumbing Oval in Bridgewater.
The Mean Machine powered to a 76-33 victory.
Mitiamo was too strong for Newbridge at John Forbes Oval in Mitiamo.
The Superoos won 49-34.
Closest match of the round was a high-scoring clash between Maiden Gully YCW and Marong under lights at Marist College Oval.
The Eagles triumphed 61-54.
In next Saturday’s fourth round, Calivil United takes on Mitiamo at 5 Star Stockfeeds Oval in Mitiamo.
Newbridge clashes with Bridgewater at Simonds Homes Riverside Oval in Newbridge.
Marong and Pyramid Hill clash at Discover Marong Park in Malone Park.
Inglewood has a rest as Bears Lagoon Serpentine is not fielding an A-grade team.
Maiden Gully YCW has the bye.
