MORE than 100 goals were scored as Eaglehawk took on Strathfieldsaye in Saturday’s eighth round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Football Netball League.
The Hawks were determined to bounce back from losses to Gisborne and Sandhurst as they took to the court at S & R Park in Canterbury Park.
It was Strathfieldsaye’s first hit-out since May 15 as Storm was drawn to play Castlemaine the previous round.
A great contest between the Two Blues and Storm ended in a 59-48 victory for Eaglehawk.
Results in the other three matches went as expected.
The ladder-leading Kangaroo Flat was too strong for South Bendigo at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
The Kangaroos passed the 60-goal mark for the sixth time this season in a 64-29 result against the Bloods.
The Jayden Cowling-coached Kangaroo Flat showed it’s not all about attack as the defence kept South Bendigo to its lowest score this season.
Sandhurst marked the trek south to Kyneton by scoring a 49-28 win at Kyneton Showgrounds.
Gisborne doubled Maryborough’s tally in a 60-30 victory at Gardiner Reserve.
Golden Square had another break in A-grade, but the blue and gold took on Castlemaine in the other grades of netball at Camp Reserve.

Highlight of next Saturday’s ninth round will be the showdown between Sandhurst and Gisborne at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
The Gisborne line-up will be aiming to continue its unbeaten streak against a team whose only loss this year was at Kangaroo Flat.
Maryborough hosts South Bendigo at Barkers Oval in Princes Park.
Kangaroo Flat has a rest in A-grade, but will play Castlemaine in the lower grades at Bendigo Mazda Oval, Dower Park.
Golden Square takes on Eaglehawk at Fur Life Vet Oval in Wade Street.
Strathfieldsaye and Kyneton clash at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane.
