MOUNT Pleasant has a chance to climb to the fifth rung on the A-grade netball ladder in Saturday’;s 11th round of the Bendigo Bank Heathcote District Football Netball League season.
The Blues take on Huntly at Tolleen Recreation Reserve.
Mount Pleasant starts this round two points behind the fifth-placed North Bendigo and a win behind the fourth-placed Hawks.
In last Saturday’s play, Mounts scored a 22-goal win at Lockington as Huntly was beaten, 57-49 by Colbinabbin at Specialist Breeders Australia Oval in Huntly’s Strauch Reserve.
When the Hawks and Blues met in round four it was the Hawks who triumphed 53-48.
Since the bye in round seven, Huntly has won at Leitchville by nine goals, beat White Hills by seven goals at Huntly, and finished within eight goals of Colbinabbin in last Saturday’s home game.
Heathcote takes on White Hills at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve.
The Saints won a great contest with Leitchville Gunbower last round.
Heathcote found a way to a 30-28 victory at Gunbower.
The White Hills line-up beat North Bendigo by eight goals at Tint A Car Oval in Scott Street.
The Demons beat the Saints by 27 goals in the most recent showdown, but the margin could be closer this time.
Victory would keep White Hills in third place where it gains the double chance at finals time.
Colbinabbin plays Leitchville Gunbower at M.J. Morgan Reserve.
The Grasshoppers’ slick teamwork and accurate goaling was a highlight in the 76-31 victory when they met the Bombers in round four.
The unbeaten Elmore is back on its court to take on Lockington Bamawm United.
It’s likely to be another tough run for the Cats’ mid-courters and defence against the premiership favourites who had the bye last week.
In round four, the Bloods won by 42 goals on Lockington’s court at Nichol Trading Oval.
