Murrabit chases fourth win in row against Macorna

ALTHOUGH it has a hat-trick of wins in the A-grade netball showdowns, Murrabit will be under pressure from Macorna in the Golden Rivers Football Netball League’s preliminary final on Saturday.

A grand final berth goes to the winner as Murrabit and Macorna take to the Wandella court.

The Murrabit line-up is on the rebound from a 42-28 loss to Nullawil in last Saturday’s second semi-final played at Quambatook.

Macorna began the finals series with a 38-26 victory against Ultima in the first semi-final at Hay.

The Tigers from Macorna face a huge challenge as Murrabit beat them 36-25 in round one, 40-27 in the eighth, and 26-23 in the 15th.

 

Moulamein takes on Nullawil in the B-grade preliminary final.

The clash in round seven ended in a 50-25 win for Nullawil at home before a 40-20 victory at Moulamein in the 14th round.

Moulamein won the first semi-final against Quambatook by seven goals and takes on an opponent determined to hit back from 31-36 loss to Murrabit in the second semi-final.

It’s a clash between Hay and Nullawil in the B-reserve preliminary.

Victorious by margins of 30 and 44 goals in the run to the finals, Nullawil will start favourite against Hay.

The finals series began with a 35-34 victory for Hay against Wandella in the first semi.

Nullawil is on the rebound from a 10-goal loss in the second semi-final clash with Murrabit.

 

Fans could witness another thrilling 17-and-under match between Macorna and Nullawil.

The Nullawil line-up won by margins of two and three against the Tigers in the home and away series.

Macorna won the first semi against Wandella by two goals.

Last Saturday’s second semi-final ended in a 13-goal win for Ultima against Nullawil.

First match on preliminary final day will be Macorna against Ultima in the 14-and-under competition.

Ultima won the regular season matches against Ultima by 28 and 19 goals.

A thrilling first semi between Macorna and Hay ended in a 34-33 win for the Tigers.

Macorna was outplayed by Nullawil in the second semi on Quambatook’s court.

 

Schedule for Saturday’s preliminary finals at Wandella:

14-and-under at 9.45am: Macorna v Ultima.

17-and-under at 11am: Macorna v Nullawil.

A-grade at 12.15pm: Macorna v Murrabit.

B-grade at 1.30pm: Moulamein v Nullawil.

B-reserve at 2.45pm: Hay v Nullawil.
