CMFNL Kings Birthday Preview | Swans play Bulldogs under Swan Hill lights

A STAND-ALONE match between Swan Hill and Tyntynder will be played on Saturday night to complete the sixth round of the Central Murray FNL’s senior footy action.

It’s a stand-alone match between the Swans and Bulldogs on King’s Birthday holiday weekend.

Play in the 3SH-backed seniors competition starts at 6pm.

Premiership points are a must for both clubs.

A 3-3 record has Swan Hill in seventh place, but only a win behind Lake Boga.

Victory and lifting percentage will be the major goals of the Swans.

Tyntynder is eighth on a 2-5 record.

In last Saturday’s play, Swan Hill was beaten 34-122 at home by Woorinen.

Best for Swan Hill were ruckman Toby Thoolen, Jarvis Keogh, Matt Wade, Elijah Miliado, Tom Holdstock and Luke Phelan.

The Bulldogs are also on the rebound from a 35-80 loss to Mallee Eagles at Lalbert.

Best for Tyntynder in that test were Liam Whelan, Matt Corney, Tate Hulland, Matt Gilbee and Brock Storer.

Among the key match-ups in the Swan Hill and Tyntynder clash will be Jose Miliado in the centre against Isaiah Bull.

The Swans’ attack includes Sonny Beasy, captain Luke Phelan and Jacob Seears opposed to the likes of Bulldogs’ captain Elia Ware, Brock Storer and Matt Gilbee.

Key targets in Tyntynder’s attack are likely to be Liam Whelan, Josh Dwyer and Zac Denham up against Hamish Robertson, Lachlan Joyce and Jarvis Keogh.

Swan Hill named Buol Major in the ruck to team up with Matt Wade and Brandon Houlihan.

Tyntynder’s on-ballers are Hugh Broad, Roy George and Patrick Crowe.

In round six matches played on May 20, Kerang scored  46-38 win against Balranald at Kerang’s Riverside Park, and Cohuna won 101-79 against Tooleybuc Manangatang at Tooleybuc.

Nyah Nyah West United marked the trek to Lalbert by scoring a 130-68 victory against Mallee Eagles.

Woorinen won 69-24 on Lake Boga’s turf.

Koondrook Barham had the bye in round six.
