CMFNL Round 13 Netball Review | Lake Boga’s unbeaten run rolls on

LAKE Boga’s undefeated run in A-grade netball continued in Saturday’s 13th round of the Central Murray FNL season.

The high-flying Magpies were on their court at Lake Boga to take on Mallee Eagles.

It was first against fourth.

Lake Boga led 12-9 at quarter-time and won the second term, 12-8.

In the third the Magpies seized control to add 17 goals as the Eagles were held to a tally of seven.

Mallee fought on strongly to win the last quarter, 18-12, but it was Lake Boga which took the points in a 53-42 victory.

Goalers for Lake Boga were Sarah Hepburn, 38; and Katie Hepburn, 15.

The Eagles’ attack was led by Kellie Walker, 28; and Megan Thorneycroft, 14.

Balranald won a closely-fought contest on its court at Greenham Park with Tyntynder.

The Kangaroos led 15-11 at quarter-time before Tyntynder fired up to win the second, 11-9.

A two-goal lead for Balranald at the main break grew to six by the final change.

In the final term the Roos scored 10 goals and Tyntynder added nine.

At the final whistle Balranald led 48-41.

The Roos’ attack was led by Ella Mirtschin, 30; and Jess Parry, 18.

Tyntynder’s goalers included Kimberley Calvert, 25; and Kelsey Rowe, 15.

The Demons from Nyah Nyah West United fired up to beat Koondrook Barham by 27 goals at Barham.

The NNWU line-up led 33-19 at half-time and won the next two quarters, 16-10 and 16-9, to claim a 65-38 victory.

Emily Fasham and Tatum Boyd scored 26 and 12 goals for Koondrook Barham.

The NNWU attack included Stephanie Henson pouring in 28 goals.

Kerang was too strong for Tooleybuc Manangatang at Kerang’s Riverside Park.

The Blues led 18-9 at quarter-time and 33-21 after the second.

Kerang won the next two terms, 13-8 and 11-4.

Courtney Robertson hit a game-high 49 goals in the 57-33 result.

The Saints’ attack included Shaniah Nunn on 16 goals.

Woorinen roared to a 34-goal win at home against Cohuna.

The Tigers won every quarter in their clash with the Kangas.

After a 10-8 start, Woorinen scored 20 goals in the second as Cohuna added a dozen.

From a 30-20 lead at half-time the Tigers roared their way to a 73-39 victory.

Tayla Bennett scored 58 goals for the yellow and black as Emily Siely reached 15.

Cohuna’s attack was led by Carmen Dye, 25; and Kobie McIvor, 14.

Swan Hill had the bye.

Highlight of next Saturday’s 14th round will be Woorinen against Balranald at Woorinen.

Refreshed by the bye, Swan Hill is at home to take on Mallee Eagles.

Kerang faces Nyah Nyah West United at Kerang’s Riverside Park.

Koondrook Barham takes on Tyntynder at Barham.

It’s a bye for Cohuna, Lake Boga, and Tooleybuc Manangatang.
