All clubs represented as finals series kicks off

ALL 16 clubs are represented across this weekend’s start to the Radio 3SH Central Murray FNL football finals series.

Qualifying and elimination finals will be played at Swan Hill’s Alan Garden Reserve and at Swan Hill Recreation Reserve.

A huge weekend includes 16 matches being played.

The unbeaten Nyah Nyah West United takes on Cohuna Kangas in the first qualifying final of the seniors competition from 2.45pm at Swan Hill Recreation Reserve.

It’s first against fourth on day one of the finals campaign.

In round 15 it was the Corey Daniels-coached Nyah Nyah West United which marked a 95-80 win against the Jack Geary-coached Kangas in Nyah.

For the on-ball duels, NNWU has Blake Larkings, Jordan Johnston and Dominic Gallo to take on Chris Anderson, Tom Toma and Sam McGlone.

A strong attack for the Demons includes Alex Erlandson, Lachlan Ritchie, Jonathon Ross and Beau Schwarze.

Cohuna defenders Lachlan English, Mitch Treacy, Jacob Mitchell and Brady Hore face a huge challenge.

The Demons’ back six led by Nash Richman, Jack Palmer, Zack Threadgold and Brayden Bigham takes on Joel Helman, Tyson Farrant, Corbin Anderson and Charlie Ford.

A highlight will be in the centre where NNWU has Scott Carlin opposed to the classy Ricky Monti.

On the wings, NNWU has Riley Daniels and Murndarr McInnes up against Kyle Monaghan and Ryder van der Zande.

The second qualifying finals will be at Alan Garden Reserve.

Mallee Eagles meet reigning premier Woorinen in the seniors clash at 2.45pm.

The Eagles and Tigers played out a thriller at Woorinen in round two.

A Mallee line-up coached by Harry Allen won 101-100.

A 14-1 record meant the Eagles finished the home-and-away series perched on the ladder’s second rung.

The Tim Free-coached Woorinen has a 13-3 record.

Key match-ups for Mallee include Joe Halloran at full-back against Doug Beames, Zac O’Meara at centre half-back against Jose Miliado, and Hamish Hosking to compete in the ruck with Lachlan Gardner.

Players to watch for the Eagles include Darcy Hourigan, Jack Landt, Darcy McGregor, Cody Henness and Isaiah Bull.

A talented Woorinen line-up includes Jye Barry, Ben Booth, Will Collicoat, Tom Langford and Kane Reid.

It’s season on the line in Sunday’s elimination finals.

Hay tackles Kerang in the first elimination at Swan Hill Recreation Reserve from 2.45pm.

It was a 106-59 win for Hay at home in the round 14 clash with the Blues.

The Mick Cattanach and James Moran-coached Hay finished the regular season in fifth place on a 10-5 record.

A Kerang team coached by Brad Pay was eighth on an eight-seven tally.

Hay’s attack is brilliantly led by Dean Aylett, Jack Headon, Jacob and Declan Watson.

They will be up against Josh Hunter, Rylee Gitsham, Lachlan Thompson and Leigham McAlpin.

Lions’ ruckman Jim Houston will join forces with Fergus and Jack Cattanach.

Kerang’s on-ball group is Ian Fisher, Flynn and Bohden McKnight.

A Hay defence led by Dylan Adkins, Ned Reinard, Dylan Collis and Jayden Kinces takes on Zak Bozanich, Archer Dibsdale, Kane Wilson and Jonah McKnight.

Koondrook Barham meets Moulamein in the second elimination final to be played from 2.15pm at Alan Garden Reserve.

Both teams finished sixth and seventh on a win-loss tally of nine-six.

The Marcus Demaria-coached River Raiders marked a 100-44 win against Moulamein at Barham in the 12th round.

Key players for Koondrook Barham include ruck-rover Nathan O’Toole, rover Martin Kelly, Cameron Arnold and Kye Attwell in attack, Ryan Bassett and Reagan Hamilton in defence.

Moulamein will look for big games from the likes of ruckman Heath Moloney, Mark Drotsky, Will Doquile, Xander Hartland and Ely Miller.

The Swans are jointly coached by Brodie Tonkin and Hayden Dalitz.
