BFNL Netball | Round 12 Wrap Up

Sandhurst outpoints South on QEO court

ALTHOUGH it was without two of its best players, Sandhurst was too strong for South Bendigo in Saturday’s 12th round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Football Netball League season.

The clash of the QEO co-tenants was dominated by the unbeaten Sandhurst from the first centre pass.

The Tamara Gilchrist-coached ladder leader charged to a 12-goal lead by quarter-time.

Sandhurst’s greatest margin at a break was 17 at half-time.

The Jannelle Hobbs-coached South Bendigo did lift to match Sandhurst in the final term as both teams scored 13 goals.

At the final whistle, Sandhurst led 64-41.

Paige Ryan and Darcy Williams were in the Sandhurst line-up for Ruby Turner and Meg Williams who played for North East Blaze in Saturday night’s VNL match.

A star in the Dragons’ 12th win of the season was Holly Lockhart at wing defence.

The third-placed Gisborne was too strong for Castlemaine.

The Bulldogs won 49-37 on Castlemaine’s court at Camp Reserve.
