Eaglehawk’s rising stars play well on many grounds

EAGLEHAWK’S rising stars shone across the weekend’s seventh round of the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Junior Football League season.

The Two Blues were in action at Woorinen, California Gully, and Eaglehawk’s home nest at Canterbury Park.

The Hawks’ under-18 girls’ team made the trek to Woorinen to play the Tigers.

Woorinen won 56-23 in a match where Keely Fullerton kicked two goals for Eaglehawk.

Best for the Two Blues were Isabel St Clair, Taylor Collier, Courtney Gibson, Imogen Wilson, Jorja Gibson and Neve Nisbet.

Eaglehawk was on home turf at Canterbury Park for the under-16 boys’ seniors match against Strathfieldsaye.

The Storm line-up won 122 to 47.

Bailie Gahan, Judd Gilchrist and Austin Tresize kicked two goals apiece for the Borough.

Best for Eaglehawk were James Coates-Moore, Anderson Pithie, Deacon Marsh, Jaeyln Ilsley and Archer Billings.

 

It was a closely-fought finish to the under-16 reserves 2 match between Eaglehawk and White Hills at Canterbury Park.

The Hawks led 32-8 at half-time, but the Demons fired up to win the third term, 18-1.

Led by the play of Bailey O’Neill, Oscar Feldbaeur and Ben Ralston, Eaglehawk won 46-40.

Eaglehawk’s best included Ashton Frankling, Nathan Booby and Kobi Macondald as Daniel Vallance led the attack on two goals.

The Hawks played Rochester in the under-14 reserves 1 match at California Gully.

Rochester led 45-1 at quarter-time, but the Hawks worked incredibly hard to win the next three quarters, 45-22.

At the final siren the Tigers led 9.13 (67) to 6.10 (46).

Maysen Pettersen kicked four goals for Eaglehawk.

Best for the Two Blues were Harry Miller, Tyson Taylor, Logan Wilson, Zaxon Shelton, Jaykob Lindholm and Jamieson Webster.

 

In the under-12B competition, Eaglehawk took on Huntly in the battle of the Hawks at California Gully.

Eaglehawk won 150-6 as Taj Ferguson kicked six goals, Xavier Stone added four, and Jack Frankel and Zio Uerata chipped in with three.

The Borough’s best were Cale Hinton, Jack Frankel, Alex Gill, Taj Ferguson, Cashius Burke and Xavier Stone.

Eaglehawk won the under-12E match against South Bendigo by 25 points.

The Hawks led 8.8 (56) to 5.1 (31) at the final siren.

Ryan Hinck kicked five goals for the Hawks as Chase Powley added two.

Best for the Borough were Aston Rae, Ryan Hinck, Wynn Jackson, Brodie Taylor, Jasper McHardy and Maeson Miller.

The under-14 girls match between Eaglehawk and Golden Square ended in a 53-point win for the blue and gold at California Gully.

Eaglehawk’s best were Gracie Whitfort, Claudia Fisher, Zoe Hodgskiss, Sianna Thatcher, Tahlia Thorpe and Addison Martin.
