One-team clubs make mark across competition

THE one-team clubs marked more success across the weekend’s sixth round in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Junior Football League season.

The under-12C competition includes Heathcote, Quarry Hill, and St Kilian’s-St Peter’s.

Heathcote scored a 50-16 win against St Therese’s at Ewing Park.

Goalkicking accuracy was a highlight of the Saints play who scored 8.2.

Kayden Willmot kicked three goals for Heathcote and was among the best with Hudson and Isaac Pianta-Cook, Xavier Moore, Luca Slee and Cody Gellatly.

 

St Kilian’s-St Peter’s played Quarry Hill at Weeroona Oval.

The Saints beat the Demons, 56-13, as Bentley Geary led the attack on two goals.

Best for St Kilian’s-St Peter’s were Elijah Willits, Beau Butler, Bentley Geary, Tommy Byrne, Archie Herdman and Rocky Bergin.

Goals for Quarry Hill were kicked by Sean Maher and Wally Minne.

The Demons’ best were Wally Minne, Tyler Bennett, Oisin Dunne, Sonny Kennedy, Sean Maher and Byron Martin.

 

In the under-12D competition, St Monica’s play dominated on Golden Square’s turf at Fur Life Oval in Wade Street.

Ethan Crocker kicked three goals and Raff Gallagher added two as St Monica’s won 59-0.

Best were Lucius Geddes, Declan Bonnici, Ethan Crocker, Callum McGee, Tyler Scullie and Darcy Zappelli.

North Bendigo won the under-12E match with Kyneton on the Bulldogs’ turf at Atkins Street.

The Bulldogs scored 4.12 (36) to 2.2 (14).

 

Rochester Tigers were on home turf at Windridge Oval for the under-14, reserves one clash with Huntly Hawks.

A high-scoring and highly-skilled match ended in a 121-39 win for the Hawks.

The Tigers’ attack was led by Morgan Boyack and Trey White on two goals apiece.

Cale James, Jack Brennan, Rory Hayes, Darby Martin and Jimmy Otto were Rochester’s best.

 

The Tigers from Woorinen marked a long trek south to Golden Square by winning the under-18 Girls’ match at Fur Life Oval in Wade Street.

Golden Square led 15-14 at half-time, but the Tigers scored 1.1 to nil in the third term.

It was a great finish to the match as Woorinen held on for a 21-17 victory.

Goalkickers for the Tigers were Samantha Johnston, two, and Natasha Kelly.

Carlee Hazlett, Issy Boulton, Demi Greenwood, Emilie Ward, Sunny Barry and Desteny Bruton were Woorinen’s best.
