NORTH Bendigo’s winning streak against Heathcote rolled on after Saturday’s round 16 action in Agnico Eagle Fosterville Gold Mine Heathcote DFNL senior footy.
The Buldogs marked a 26th consecutive victory agianst the Saints as they won 119-81 at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve.
It was a closely-fought first half as North Bendigo led 39-33 at quarter-time and 48-41 by the long break.
The Bulldogs scored 6.3 in the third, but the Saints kept in touch by adding 4.1.
Led by the play of Storm Giri, co-coach Ryan Hartley and Harrison Jarvie it was North Bendigo which won the last, 32-15.
At the final siren the Buldogs led 119-81 as they ended the Saints unbeaten run of seven matches.
Storm Giri capped a great match with four goals as Jake Dean, Jordan Ford and Dylan Klemm kicked three each and Liam Dillon added two.
The Saints’ attack was led by Sean Williams and Dylan Johnstone on four and three goals.
Best for the Bulldogs who have Rob Bennett as non-playing co-coach included Ryan Gillingham, Jordan Ford and Bailey Cain.
Heathcote’s best were Will Tobin, Hugh Freckleton, Dylan Johnstone, Callum Birch, Daniel Butler and Stefan Rasinac.
The Saints are jointly coached by Andrew Saladino, non-playing, and Liam Jacques, playing.
Brilliant forward Ben Weightman marked his 100th match for Mount Pleasant by kicking 10 goals in the win against White Hills at Toolleen.
A hamstring injury had kept Weightman sidelined the previous three rounds.
It was a stunning return to play as Weightman and his Mount Pleasant team-mates charged to a 144-71 victory against the Demons.
The Blues led 37-26 at quarter-time and then kicked 10 goals in the second as White Hills was held to a major.
Mounts was up 99-33 by the long break.
The Brad McConnell and Lachie Sawyer-coached White Hills never stopped trying and won the third quarter, 26-23.
The Blues won the last, 22-12 as the Demons rued an inaccurate return of 1.6.
Weightman’s tally of 10 goals put his season mark to 49 where he is now locked with Huntly’s Sam Dunstan and Colbinabbin’s Brandyn Grenfell in the race for league goalkicking honours.
Other multiple goalkickers for the Blues in their latest win were Xavier Carter, four; Joey Bell and Calean Smith, two.
The Demons’ attack was led by Strahan Robinson on three goals as Patrick Conlan and Khy Sawyer kicked two each.
Best for Mount Pleasant were Ben Weightman, Xavier Carter, Caelan Smith, Jack Hickman, Deklan Wille and Joel Wharton.
The Blues are jointly coached by Josh Hann, playing, and Cam Carter, non-playing as they pursue back-to-back premierships.
Best for White Hills were Khy Sawyer, Seth Boyd, Tom Conlan, Ben Irvine, Mitch Dole and Lachlan Martin.
Leitchville Gunbower climbed to the fifth rung after a 38-point win against Elmore in Leitchville.
The Joel Donehue-coached Bombers won every quarter by margins of seven, 12, seven and 12 points.
At the final siren Leitchville Gunbower led 96-58.
Billy Hawken slotted seven goals for Leitchville Gunbower as Bryce Barnstable, Jack Dye and Charles Hancock kicked two each.
A great match by Xavier Coghill included three goals for the Luke Freeman-coached Elmore.
Best for the Bombers were Billy Hawken, Jack Dye, Charles Hancock, Luke Davis, Will Brereton and Austin Windridge.
Elmore’s best were Xavier Coghill, Charlie O’Toole, Rhys Holmberg, Matt Filo, Kynan Sharpe and Matt O’Dwyer.
It was a 59-point win for Colbinabbin against the Harlowe Huntly Hawks at Huntly’s Strauch Reserve.
The Linton Jacobs-coached Grasshoppers won every quarter in a 97-38 result.
Colbinabbin led 23-13 at quarter-time and 40-19 by the long break.
A closely-fought third term went Colbo’s way, 25-13.
Laine Fitzgerald led the Grasshoppers’ attack in this contest on six goals as Domonic Grant and Josh Smithson slotted two each.
Huntly’s leading goalkicker was Sam Dunstan on four.
Best for Colbinabbin were Angus Martin, Laine Fitzgerald, Aidan Basile, Domonic Grant, Ben Barton and Nathan Basile.
Todd Stevenson, Will Lee, Brodie Fry, Sam Dunstan, Darcy Lawler and Nathan Dunstan played well for the Hamish Morcom-coached Hawks.
Lockington Bamawm United had the bye.

In the netball action…….ELMORE fought for a one-goal victory on Leitchville Gunbower’s court in Leitchville to cap the A-grade netball match in Saturday’s 16th round in the Agnico Eagle Fosterville Gold Mine Heathcote DFNL season.
The Adam Boldiston-coached Bloods withstood the pressure from the LG Bombers to claim a vital 44-43 victory.
Elmore jumped to the fifth rung and is now two points clear of the Harlowe Huntly Hawks at two rounds to play in the home-and-away series.
It was another superb effort by the Katie Pollock-coached Bombers who have had 3 ½ wins and bounced back strongly after playing the formidable Colbinabbin the previous round.
Elmore faces a huge test when it hosts Huntly next Saturday.
Results in the three other A-grade matches in the 15th round went as expected.
Mount Pleasant scored a 58-44 win against White Hills at Toolleen Recreation Reserve.
The Anthea McCleary-coached Blues will face the Elley Lawton-coached Demons in the qualifying final.
Reigning premier Colbinabbin charged to a 29-goal win on Huntly’s court at Strauch Reserve.
The Jen McIntyre-coached Grasshoppers netted a 67-38 victory against the Hawks.
A Huntly line-up coached by Kym Bell and Ash Sherlock will fight to reclaim its place in the top five when it plays at Elmore next Saturday and then hosts North Bendigo a week later.
North Bendigo was not determined not to be upset by Heathcote when they met in last Saturday’s match at Pigeon Park in Barrack Reserve.
Earlier in the season the Brooke Price-coached Saints won at North Bendigo by 10 goals.
This time the Kiralee Kinder-coached Bulldogs passed the 70-goal mark on their way to a 73-36 victory.
