Central Victoria’s best young Netball talent competes in Association Championships

BY TOM KING

On Sunday 21 May, Central Victoria’s best young Netball talent gathered to compete in the 2023 Northern Association Championships.

Representing Central Victoria were teams from the BFNL, CMFNL, GRFNL, LVFNL, HDFNL & NCNA.

In the 13& Under age group, it was Central Murray FNL that performed well to make the Final but would ultimately lose to Bendigo Strathdale NA. While the North Central NA battled hard to make the Semi’s.

In the 15 & Under division, it was Central Murray FNL again who stood tall for Central Victoria performing very well to make the Semi’s but they’re day was over after a loss to the Wimmera FNL.

In the battle of the Central Victorian’s, Loddon Valley FNL fought hard to claim victory over Heathcote District FNL in the final match of the day.

In the 17 & Under division, Bendigo FNL remained undefeated in their 2023 Association Championships Season to claim the Grand Final with a strong victory over fellow Central Victorian league, Central Murray FNL.

Special mention to Golden River FNL who fought hard to claim a draw in their match against Horsham FNL in the final match of the day!

Both the Bendigo FNL and Central Murray FNL now proceed to the State Association Championships in Melbourne where they will compete against the best in the state.

With lots of action happening across the day, it gave Netball Victoria Talent Scouts an opportunity to see some of the best regional netball talent and handpick those who will go onto a talent pathway.

Well done and thank you to all competitors, organisers, umpires, parents and volunteers for making the day happen.
