THE clash between reigning premier Castlemaine and the ladder-leading Golden Square highlights Indigenous Round being played across the Champions IGA CVFL senior women’s footy competition this Sunday.
Castlemaine has home-ground advantage at Camp Reserve for the 1pm showdown.
Since a 13-point loss at Castlemaine in round one the Darren Walsh-coached Golden Square has gone on a 10-match winning streak.
The Bulldogs beat the Jordan Cochrane-coached Magpies in round four at Gourmet Pantry Oval in Golden Square’s Wade Street.
It’s been an extended break for Castlemaine as Marong forfeited the round 12 match to have been played at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park.
In-form players for the Magpies include Tiffany Bradley, Tiahna Cochrane, Alice D’Arcy and Eillish Cumming.
A talented squad includes Jemma Finning, Paynton Jolliffe, Abbey Klemm and Taylah Sartori.
Golden Square scored a seven-goal victory in its latest hit-out at Eaglehawk’s C and M Oval in Canterbury Park.
Best for the blue and gold against the Hawks were Ava Barker, Carly Geary, Liz Watkins and Taylah Moore.
The Golden Square squad includes Mackenzie Bickley, Gabby Drage, Sarah Mannes and Terina Pickering.
It’s fourth against fifth as White Hills hosts Wedge-Tailed Eagles at the Scott Street ground.
When these clubs met in round six it was White Hills which scored a 45-33 victory in the Eagles’ test at Woodend’s Racecourse Reserve.
The Demons will be fired up after a 25-goal loss to Sandhurst last round.
Wedge-Tailed Eagles dominated their home game against Bendigo Thunder.
Key players for White Hills include Pearl Sullivan in the centre, Sasha Pearce in the ruck, Acacia and Chelsea Edwards in on-ball roles, Natalie Johnson and Kara Kane in attack, and defenders Tracey Anderson and Julia Greenhalf.

It’s a huge day for Eaglehawk coach Molly Metcalf and team-mate Kelly Mensforth as they mark the 250th and 200th matches of their footy careers when the Two Blues play Bendigo Thunder at Weeroona Oval.
Both play crucial roles in the Borough’s quest to again qualify for finals.
Metcalf’s athleticism is a huge plus in the ruck, while Mensforth is a skilful forward.
Best for the Hawks in their latest clash with Golden Square were Ellie Bailey, Alannah Leach, Monique Gavriliadis and Lexie Moss.
Thunder’s squad coached by Mick McInnes includes Stacey Barbagallo, Ngaire Harlan, Hollie Maher, Shasta Martion, Katrina Murphy and Rachel Salm.
An in-form Sandhurst will play Marong at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
The Liam Ireland and Andrew Saladino-coached Dragons will play the Panthers for the first time this season.
Players to watch for Sandhurst include Sarah Baldwin, Chloe Naughton, Chelsea Reeves, Charlotte Scanlon, Chloe Swatton, and Lily and Ruby Campbell.
Best for the Brett Carter-coached Marong in its latest hit-out against Bendigo Thunder were Steph Dawson, Tidimalo Khalo, Alicia Turner and Chelby Clark.
