Closely-fought matches played in girls competition

THERE were some closely-fought finishes in Friday night’s second round of under-12 Girls matches in the Bendigo Junior Football League.

Two points separated St Therese’s and Eaglehawk Eagles when the final siren sounded at C & M Oval in Eaglehawk’s Canterbury Park.

It was the St Therese’s Sharks who marked a 6-4 win against the Eagles.

Mila Curtain was on target for St Therese’s and was best along with Mila Hughes, Camilla Burr, Eden Haythorpe and Kiara Trollop.

Best for the Eagles were Ali Conroy, Jaidah-Rhaine Spiteri, Annabelle Lloyd and Skylah Mulcahy.

Eaglehawk Hawks soared to a 25-14 win against Strathfieldsaye at C & M Oval in Eaglehawk’s Canterbury Park.

Letty Lovell kicked two goals for the Hawks as Lara Hendy and Grace Merlo were also on target.

Josie Burns and Charlotte Palmer goaled for Strathfieldsaye.

Best for Eaglehawk Hawks were Ivy Thorpe, Grace Merlo, Abigail Grant, Millie Barton and Alexis Thompson.

Storm’s best were Bonnie Wylie, Hayley Jensen, Leni McKern, Macy Macumber and Charlotte Palmer.

Huntly scored a 20-1 win against South Bendigo White at Kennington’s Harry Trott Oval.

Ruby Mayer, Leila Pellegrino and Annabelle Reeves kicked goals for the brown and gold.

Best for Huntly were Bailey Matthews, Leila Pellegrino, Ivy Smith, Annabelle Reeves, Alexandra Knight and Mila Murchie.

Delaney Flood, Azlyn Bell, Charlotte Nanscawen, Isla Warren and Ignacia Ski were South Bendigo White’s best.

St Francis Green was in hot form against Golden Square at Gourmet Pantry Oval in Golden Square’s Wade Street.

The St Francis Green team won 63-6 as Lotti Childs kicked five goals and Tilly Stewart slotted three.

Best for St Francis Green were Albie Tyler, Tilly Stewart, Bella Hope, Lotti Childs, Pippa Fishley and Sienna Royden.

Golden Square’s best were Summer Novak, Elleah Gray, Paige Finch, Dottie Pell, Mia Stapleton and Ava Lindrea.

The Rochester Tigers teamed well in a 38-6 win against South Bendigo Red at Harry Trott Oval in Kennington.

Frankie Hay kicked four goals to be best afield as Ella Mundie also goaled.

Ruby Wilson was on target for South Bendigo Red.

Best for Rochester were Frankie Hay, Ella Forde, Ellie Riordan, Mackenzie Harvey, Annemarie Smith and Ella Mundie.

Ruby Wilson, Remi Morrice, Bowie Thurgood, Olivia Gardiner, Darcy Ketterer-Smith and Charlotte Morrissey were best for the Bloods.

White Hills had the bye.
