Nine clubs represented across netball grand finals action

THERE will be nine clubs represented on the netball courts at the Central Murray Football Netball League’s grand final day on Saturday in Swan Hill.

Players from as far afield as Kerang, Balranald, Tooleybuc Manangatang, Tyntynder, Woorinen, Lake Boga, Mallee, Cohuna, and Swan Hill will compete.

A big day of netball action tips off at 9am at Alan Garden Reserve in Swan Hill.

The Swans will have four teams vying for premiership glory on their courts.

Mallee Eagles and Tyntynder have two teams in the grand finals, with one each from Balranald, Cohuna, Kerang, Lake Boga, Tooleybuc Manangatang, and Woorinen.

Grand finale to the season will be the A-grade clash between Swan Hill and Balranald from 3pm.

The Swans were first to the grand final after they scored a 71-54 win against Mallee Eagles in the second semi-final at kerang’s Riverside Park.

Casey Frame scored 40 goals to be best on court as Swan Hill team-mate Ingrid Condely hit 31 goals.

Balranald has endured a tougher run to that ‘one day in September’.

The Roos were beaten 45-50 in the qualifying final clash with Mallee Eagles, but bounced back to score a 51-48 win against Lake Boga in the first semi.

Balranald clipped the Eagles’ wings in a 57-50 result in last Saturday’s preliminary final at Cohuna.

A 50-49 win by Swan Hill against Balranald in the preliminary final put the Swans into the A-reserve grand final against Mallee Eagles.

It will be the Swans against the Eagles in B-grade as Swan Hill takes on Mallee Eagles.

The second semi-final showdown between the grand finalists ended in a 17-goal win for Mallee.

Swan Hill will feature in the B-reserve clash with Cohuna Kangas.

The Kangas marked a 43-33 win against the Rivers Raiders from Koondrook Barham in the preliminary final on Cohuna’s court.

The Swans beat the Kangas, 37-26 in the second semi-final.

After a one-goal win against Cohuna in the 18-and-under preliminary final, Tyntynder takes on Lake Boga in the clash to decide this season’s champions.

The Magpies from Lake Boga will start favourite as they beat the Bulldogs, 43-29 in the second semi.

It will be a battle of the Blues and Saints as Kerang meets Tooleybuc Manangatang in the 16-and-under grand final.

Kerang won the second semi showdown with the Saints by nine goals.

The rising stars from Tyntynder and Woorinen will meet in the 14-and-under grand final.

After a six-goal loss to Tyntynder in the second semi, Woorinen struck back for a 50-27 victory in the preliminary final clash with the Lake Boga Magpies.
