CMFNL Round 10 Netball Review | Magpies win a top netball contest on Swan Hill’s court

LAKE Boga won a thrilling A-grade netball contest with Swan Hill in Saturday’s 10th round of the Central Murray FNL season.

The Magpies made their way to Swan Hill for a crucial match between two of the competition’s best teams.

Swan Hill led 12-11 at quarter-time and 25-24 by the main break.

In the third it was the Magpies who lifted their play to outscore the Swans, 13-11.

Lake Boga’s goalers Sarah Hepburn and Katie Hepburn scored 42 and six goals respectively in a 48-45 victory.

The Swans’ attack was led by Zoe Morris, 26; and Ingrid Condely, 19.

Tyntynder won a closely-fought contest on Cohuna’s court.

The Cohuna Kangas led 15-14 at quarter-time, but the Bulldogs took control to win the second term, 16-10.

Tyntynder was up by eight goals going into the final quarter, but it was the Kangas who fought back brilliantly to win the term, 15-11.

At the final siren, the Bulldogs led 58-54.

Tyntynder’s attack was led by Kimberley Calvert, 33; and Kelsey Rowe, 25.

Carmen Dye and Kobie McIvor scored 28 and 26 goals for the Kangas.

Balranald won all quarters in a 51-33 victory on Nyah Nyah West United’s court.

The Roos led 13-10 at quarter-time and 24-14 by the main break.

In the second half, Balranald scored 14 goals in the third term and 13 in the last, while the Demons added term scores of 10 and nine.

Balranald’s goalers were Ella Mirtschin, 38; and Jess Parry, 13.

Woorinen marked a 17-goal win against the Mallee Eagles at Lalbert.

The Tigers led 34-21 at half-time before the Eagles were within 11 at a quarter to go.

Woorinen won the last, 19-13, and the match, 67-50.

Tayla Bennett was in top form as she scored 57 goals for the Tigers and Emily Siely added 10.

Mallee’s goalers were Kellie Walker, 33; and Megan Thorneycroft, 17.

Tooleybuc Manangatang was in great form against Koondrook Barham at Manangatang.

The Saints led 17-6 at quarter-time and 37-15 by the long break.

Tooleybuc Manangatang went on for a 77-36 victory.

Koondrook Barham’s attack was led by Emily Fasham, 23; and Remy Doyle, 13.

Kerang had the bye.
