Demons surge clear of Saints at Tooleybuc

THE Demons from Nyah Nyah West United had too much firepower for Tooleybuc Manangatang Saints to stop in Saturday’s third round of the Radio 3SH-backed senior footy across the Central Murray.

In a top contest at Tooleybuc, NNWU led 63-59 going into the final term.

Led by the play of gun forward Brandyn Grenfell, Jordan Iudica and Dominic Gallo, NNWU scored 4.7 to a point in the last to complete a 94-60 victory.

Grenfell kicked a match-high seven goals as Charlie Boulton and Dominic Gallo added two each.

The Saints’ attack was led by Kai Kearns, three, and Thomas Matarazzo, two.

Best for the Demons included Lucas Iudica, Brayden Bigham and Charlie Boulton.

Connor McDonald, Jesse Wilson, John Wardle, Jackson Morris, Harrison Maher and Jaicob Kenny played well for Tooleybuc Manangatang.

A brilliant first half set up Woorinen’s win at home against Cohuna Kangas.

The Tigers led 16-3 at quarter-time and then scored 4.5 to 1.1 in the second.

Lachlan Gardner, Clayton McCartney and Josh Stone kicked two goals as the yellow and black ran out 80-43 victors.

Cohuna’s only multiple goalkicker was Izaac Johnson, two.

Best for Woorinen were Matt Gardner, Josh Domaille, Regan Vesty, Henry Thompson, Arnold Kirby and Doug Beames.

Zac Poole, Jack Geary, Xavier Mitchell, Will Lee, Joel Helman and Brenton Conforti were the Kangas’ best.

Tyntynder surge clear of Lake Boga in the final term to win 66-43 at Alan Garden Reserve in Swan Hill.

The Tyntynder team led 41-34 at three quarter-time.

A tally of 4.1 to 1.3 in the last meant the Dogs ran out 23-point victors.

Jason Eagle kicked four goals for the Bulldogs.

Lake Boga’s leading goalkicker was David Gourdis on three.

Tyntynder’s best were Roy George, Justin Ellis, Marcus Wattie, Isaiah Bull, Mick Dedini and Elia Ware.

Brodie Tonkin, David Gourdis, Kai Everett, Zac Warne, Fraser Colville and Koben Ryan were Lake Boga’s best.

Mallee Eagles soared to a 23-point win against Swan Hill at Lalbert.

Scores were 47-all at half-time.

The Eagles won the third term, 32-16, and the last, 15-8.

Darcy Hourigan kicked a match-high five goals as Mallee marked a 94-71 victory.

Multiple goalkickers for the Swans were coach Michael Herlihy and Toby Thoolen on two.

Best for the Eagles were Joe Halloran, Wes Bennett, Clem Miller, Kieren Bourke, Clinton Cummins and Harry McGregor.

Highly-rated recruits Jimmy Toumpas and Ned McKeown were Swan Hill’s best, along with Jose Miliado, Thomas Isma, Toby Thoolen and Luke Phelan.

After a closely-fought first half, Kerang went on to record a 100-37 win against Koondrook Barham at Barham.

The Blues led 39-26 at half-time of the contest.

Kerang scored 2.4 to just three behinds in the third term and then added 7.3 to 1.2 in the last.

Jordan Neil kicked three goals for Kerang as Harry Bremner and Archer Dibsdale added two.

Jack Shannon booted two goals for Koondrook Barham.

Best for the Blues were Josh Nitschke, Jesse Clark, Martin Kelly, Sean Hunter, Tyson Clingan and Nick Lang.

The River Raiders’ best were Jack Shannon, Jack Thrum, Kye Attwell, Patrick Goble, Scott Wood and Jason Hura.

Balranald had the bye.

In Saturday’s fourth round it’s third against fourth as Kerang faces Woorinen at Kerang’s Riverside Park.

The ladder-leading Nyah Nyah West United is home to take on Mallee Eagles.

Cohuna Kangas tackle Tooleybuc Manangatang.

Lake Boga hosts Koondrook Barham at Lake Boga Sports Club.

Balranald is back on home turf at Greenham Park to play Tyntynder.

Swan Hill has the bye.
