DeAraugo kicks eight as Wedderburn outplays Saints

EIGHT goals by “comeback kid” Ben DeAraugo marked another impressive victory by Wedderburn against St Arnaud in Saturday’s 11th round of the Goldacres North Central Football League season.

The Redbacks controlled most of the game on the Saints’ turf at Lord Nelson Park.

DeAraugo earned best afield honours as Danny Benaim and Tom Campbell also kicked three goals in the 19.11 (125) to 8.6 (54) victory.

The Saints’ sole multiple goalkicker was Jason Rogers with two.

Best for the Redbacks were Ben DeAraugo, Joseph Lockhart, Tom Campbell, Hamish Winter-Irving, Louis Holt and Corey Lowry.

Billy Lovel and Jason Rogers were best for the Saints.

Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers struck back from their first defeat of the season to score a 44-point win on Charlton’s turf.

The Tigers won 13.15 (93) to 7.7 (49).

Wade Donnan, Matt Elliott, Billy McInnes and Will Simpson all kicked two goals apiece for the Tigers.

Riely Thiesz led the Navies’ attack on two goals.

Trent Donnan, Luke Martin, Simpson, Tom Summerhayes, Wade Donnan and Kyle Brasser were Sea Lake Nandaly’s best.

Angus McKenzie, Ben Walklate, Sam O’Connor, Rhys Thompson, Tim Hill and Sean O’Connor were best for a Charlton line-up which now has a 3-6 record and is six points adrift of the fourth-placed Donald.

Seven-goal hauls by Bryan Beckham and Leigh Burke were a highlight of Donald’s big win at home against Wycheproof Narraport.

The resurgent Royals scored a 117-28 victory against the Demons.

It was the Beckham-Burke Show for a lot of the contest, although Will Burke, Rian McGough and Ross Young chipped in with three goals apiece.

Ross Young was best afield as Darcy Harrison, Leigh Burke, Beckham, McGough and Daniel Venditti starred for Donald.

Adal Zuk, Dane McLennan, Rowan Jones, Guy Chisnall, James Coatsworth and George Turner were Wycheproof Narraport’s best.

Birchip Watchem was too strong for Boort at George Cartwright Oval in Birchip.

The Bulls charged to a 111-65 victory.

Daniel Ratcliffe kicked four goals as Jacob Christie and Will Sheahan added three apiece.

The Magpies’ attack was led by Lane Malone, three, and Keanu Padula, two.

Key forward Lachlan Foott was best afield for the Bulls and had great support from Stefan Pye, Christie, Dale Hinkley, Ratcliffe and Will Lowe.

Braeden Deary, Matt Chisari, Keiren Wilson, Jack Smith, Jesse Muscatello and Tom Potter were Boort’s best.
