THE Winslow Constructors White Hills Demons outpointed Elmore in three quarters to win Saturday’s round 11 match in Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL A-grade netball.
It was a hot start by the Elly Lawton-coached Demons as they led 14-9 by quarter-time of the match on the Scott Street court in White Hills.
Both teams scored 12 goals in the second term.
The Demons then won the third, 11-6, and the last, 8-6.
At the final siren White Hills led 45-31.
Second in the premiership race, White Hills will play on North Bendigo’s court at Bendigo Club Oval in Atkins Street next Saturday.
Elmore will aim to rebound from defeat when it takes on Huntly at Elmore Recreation Reserve.
The Bloods are jointly coached by Cayde Hayes, playing, and Hayley Langdon, non-playing.
Huntly overcame a great start by Leitchville Gunbower to record a six-goal victory at Huntly’s Strauch Reserve.
The Grant Matthews-coached Leitchville Gunbower raced to a 16-10 lead at quarter-time and was up 26-21 at the long break.
Quarter three marked a significant turn in play as the Harlowe Huntly Hawks took charge in all thirds of the court.
As the brown and gold poured in 17 goals it kept the Bombers to a tally of seven.
Huntly led 38-33 going into the final term and went on to claim a 51-45 victory.
The Hawks’ line-up coached by Ashlea Sherlock and Kym Bell plays at Elmore next Saturday.
The LG Bombers will be on their court at Gunbower to take on Mount Pleasant.
The Anthea McCleary-coached Mount Pleasant withstood a spirited challenge from Lockington Bamawm United at Toolleen.
It was win number seven this season for Mounts as they led 49-43 at the final siren.
A tally of 43 goals by the LBU Cats was its second-best of the season following 55 against Huntly the previous round.
Although it is winless the Kerryn Giorgianni and Shelby Stone-coached LBU has shown it cannot be taken lightly.
Unbeaten and on top of the ladder, Colbinabbin passed the 70-goal mark in its home game against Heathcote at M.J. Morgan Oval.
The Jen McIntyre-coached Colbinabbin won 73-38.
It’s another home game for Colbinabbin next Saturday as it faces Lockington Bamawm United.
The Anna Dundon-coached Heathcote has the bye in the 12th round and will be back on court at Pigeon Park in Barrack Reserve on July 12 to play the LBU Cats.
North Bendigo had the bye.
