Eagles face challenge on Bridgewater’s court

SECOND faces third as Bridgewater and Maiden Gully YCW Eagles clash in this Saturday’s seventh round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League season.

Both teams have a 4-1 record, but Bridgewater is more than 20 per cent clear of the Eagles.

The Mean Machine will aim to capitalise on home-court advantage at Bridgewater Bakehouse Oval.

In round six, Bridgewater fought for a 57-53 win against Marong on the Panthers court at Discover Marong Park in Malone Park.

An unbeaten run for Maiden Gully YCW was broken as Mitiamo won at Marist College Oval by 19 goals.

Reigning premier Mitiamo just goes about notching up the victiories.

The Superoos have a powerful attack, 306 goals, and strong defence, 224 against.

After a winless run in 2019, Pyramid Hill has a 3-2 record and is fourth in the premiership race.

A bye in round six followed a 32-36 loss to Maiden Gully YCW at Pyramid Hill’s Mitchell Park.

Calivil United takes on Inglewood at 5 Star Stockfeeds Oval in Calivil.

The Demons had a rest last Saturday as they were drawn to play at Serpentine.

In round five, Calivil United played superb netball to score a 69-48 win at Bridgewater.

The Blues will be determined to hit back from a 26-goal loss to Newbridge at Dissy Machinery Oval in Inglewood.

Marong has a rest in A-grade, but the Panthers will take on Bears Lagoon Serpentine in the other six grades at Discover Marong Park.

Newbridge has the bye.

All of Saturday’s A-grade matches start at 3pm.
