FAVOURITES reigned supreme across all four A-grade netball matches played in round three of the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
Action began on Anzac Day when Maiden Gully YCW Eagles faced Newbridge under the Marist College Oval lights in Maiden Gully.
Although the Leisa Barry-coached Eagles had home-court advantage they could not halt Newbridge’s charge to it first win of the season.
A Maroons’ team jointly coached by Selina Holland and Kirsty Gandy netted a 54-24 victory.
In Saturday’s play, Pyramid Hill was on home turf at Mitchell Park against Mitiamo.
A high-scoring contest went the way of Mitiamo by 10 goals.
The Superoos who are being jointly coached by Abbey Battersby and Jess Kaur won a great match, 65-55.
A Pyramid Hill team coached by Chelsea Emmerson, Simone Edgley and Laura Herbert will now focus on next Saturday’s match at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve.
The Bulldogs take on the Danielle O’Toole and Lara Clements-coached Bears who had a bye last Saturday and hold third place on the ladder.
Bridgewater dominated play at Inglewood’s Centre State Scaffolding Oval.
The Caz Wood and Olivia Hoiles-coached Bridgewater outplayed the Blues by 56 goals.
At the final siren the Mean Machine led 69-13 against the Caitlyn Cartwright-coached Inglewood.
More than 100 goals were scored in the Calivil United and Marong clash at Calivil Recreation Reserve.
The Cindy Portwine-coached Calivil United teamed well to pour in 43 goals, but it was the Bridget Willox-coached Marong which was up by 16 goals at the final whistle.

Newbridge and Inglewood clash at Deepcore Drilling Oval in Newbridge’s Riverside Oval.
Bears-Lagoon Serpentine take on Pyramid Hill in the Bears’ den in Serpentine.
