Fight for fifth rages at Pyramid Hill

THE fight for fifth spot on the A-grade netball ladder will be waged at Pyramid Hill’s Mitchell Park in Saturday’s 13th round of the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League season. This round across all matches will be called Love the Game Round.

Pyramid Hill and Marong are locked on four wins each, but the Panthers greater percentage of .43 means it leads the sixth-placed Bulldogs.

After a brilliant start in which it beat Inglewood by 10 goals at home; won at Newbridge by 29 goals; and then at Marong by 13 goals, Pyramid Hill is determined to snap a four-game losing streak.

The Bulldogs and Panthers are on the rebound from defeat.

Pyramid Hill was beaten at Calivil by 16 goals last round as Marong went down to Maiden Gully YCW Eagles, 42-56, at Discover Marong Park.

In the past three rounds, Marong has won at Inglewood by six goals, beat Newbridge by 21 goals, and was then beaten by Maiden Gully YCW Eagles.

Another big match on Saturday will be at John Forbes Oval where Mitiamo hosts Calivil United.

It’s first against third in Superoos’ territory.

Mitiamo won the fourth round showdown with the Demons at 5 Star Stockfeeds Oval in Calivil by 16 goals.

A strong Mitiamo attack has racked up 490 goals in its unbeaten run.

The Superoos scored 68 goals in their latest match played on Newbridge’s court.

A tally of 49 against Newbridge in round three was Mitiamo’s lowest score this season.

Bridgewater faces Newbridge at Bridgewater Bakehouse Oval.

The Mean Machine should chalk up win number seven and climb to third on the ladder.

In round four, Bridgewater won on Newbridge’s court at Simonds Homes Riverside Park by 19 goals.

Bridgewater scored a 56-40 in last Saturday’s clash on Inglewood’s court.

Inglewod hosts Bears Lagoon Serpentine in the lower grades at Dissy Machinery Oval at Inglewood, but the Blues take a break in A-grade.
