Fourth takes on fifth at Huntly

LOCKED on three wins apiece, Huntly and Colbinabbin clash in Saturday’s seventh round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote District Football Netball League season.

It’s a vital contest between the fourth and fifth-placed teams.

The Hawks and Grasshoppers will be determined to keep the winning run rolling and to gain a one-win break on the other.

Huntly has a win-loss tally of 3-2 after a 53-39 victory in last Saturday’s match on North Bendigo’s court at Hibo Hotel Oval in Atkins Street.

Chloe Fletcher and Laura Parkhill played key roles in the Hawks’ latest victory.

It was a much tougher match for Colbinabbin as it fought to claim a 40-36 win against Leitchville-Gunbower on the Grasshoppers’ court at M.J. Morgan Reserve.

The ladder-leading Elmore makes the trek to Leitchville to take on Leitchville-Gunbower.

A powerful Bloods’ attack just keeps on capitalising on the dominance through mid-court.

Elmore’s latest match ended in a 64-34 win at home against Heathcote.

The Heathcote Saints are back on the Barrack Reserve court to take on a White Hills team freshened up by the bye.

The Lauren Cowling-coached White Hills will be determined to bounce back from its round five loss to Elmore.

Another big game will be Lockington where Lockington Bamawm United hosts North Bendigo.

Both teams have recorded just the one victory.

In last Saturday’s play, LBU was beaten by 21 goals in its clash with Mount Pleasant at Toolleen.

North Bendigo will be fired up after a 14-goal loss at home.

Imogen Davies played a great game for the red, white and blue against Huntly.

A much-improved LBU has coach Jesse Hardess in great form.

On a four-game winning streak, Mount Pleasant has the bye.

Standings in the Heathcote DFNL A-grade netball competition:

Elmore 150 per cent, 24 points; White Hills 148, 16; Mount Pleasant 110, 16; Huntly 102, 12; Colbinabbin 93, 12; Heathcote 86, 8; Leitchville-Gunbower 89, 4; Lockington Bamawm United 82, 4; North Bendigo 62, 4.
