GOLDEN Square scored a one-point victory against St Therese’s Sharks in Friday night’s third round match in the Bendigo Junior Football League’s under-12 girls competition.
It was a top match played at Bendigo’s Ewing Park.
St Therese’s led 26-13 at half-time, but Golden Square lifted its play to score 3.1 and kept the Sharks scoreless in the third term.
The last went the way of St Therese’s, 6-1, but the point was enough for the blue and gold to mark a 33-32 victory.
Goalkickers for Golden Square were Paige Finch on three and Lola Allen.
The Sharks’ attack was led by Mila Curtain on three as Skyller Brielle Mercado added two.
Best for Golden Square were Paige Finch, Summer Novak, Elleah Gray, Summer Ryan, Macie Crocker and Lola Allen.
Mila Curtain, Camilla Burr, Eden Haythorpe, Eloise Power, Mila Hughes and Evelyn Lenehan played well for St Therese’s.
Strathfieldsaye scored a 31-10 win against Eaglehawk Eagles at White Hills.
Storm’s attack was led by Scarlett Brooker and Harley Jensen on two goals as Charlotte Palmer added the other.
Piper Ferguson goaled for the Eagles.
Best for Storm were Scarlett Booker, Adele McKinley, Charlotte Palmer, Maddison Sherwell and Hayley Jensen.
Amaya O’Connell, Mila Holmfield, Gabriella Mulcahy, Ruby Hansford and Piper Ferguson played well for Eaglehawk.
The Eaglehawk Hawks soared to a 54-nil win against White Hills in the Demons’ den in White Hills.
Grace Merlo was in top form as she kicked five goals and Letty Lovell booted two.
Best for the Hawks were Barkley Pettifer, Ivy Thorpe, Abigail Van Den Aarsen, Torah Lewien and Zarah McKerlie.
Senna Comer, Indi House, Sophie Hawkswood, Ava Hofton and Harper Ilott were best for the Demons.
Rochester won 56-nil on its turf at Windridge Oval against South Bendigo White.
Ella Forde led the Tigers’ attack on four goals as Frankie Hay kicked two.
Rochester’s best were Ella Forde, Frankie Hay, Annemarie Smith, Ella Mundie, Mackenzie Harvey and Ava Rasmussen.
Baylee Mahon, Ignacia Ski, Dempsey Murphy, Havana Makoni and Lily O’Donnell were South Bendigo White’s best.
St Francis Green marked an 88-nil win against Huntly at Ewing Park.
Ariah Villani kicked four goals as Lotti Childs, Albie Tyler and Eadie Willlis added two each.
Best for St Francis Green were Holly Hayes, Ariah Villani, Pippa Fishley, Albie Tyler, Lotti Childs and Eadie Willis.
Kahlee Everitt, Bailey Matthews, Mila Murchie, Romy Anthony, Ivy Smith and Ruby Mayer played well for Huntly.
South Bendigo Red had the bye.
