GOLDEN Square’s winning streak has reached 10 in a row after Friday night’s start to round 12 in the Champions IGA-backed CVFL senior women’s footy season.
The Bulldogs made their way to C and M Oval in Eaglehawk’s Canterbury Park to take on the Hawks.
A high-scoring first term was won by Golden Square, 27-7.
As the blue and gold added 2.1 in the second it kept the Borough to a major.
The Darren Walsh-coached Golden Square won the next two quarters, 13-7 and nine-nil against the Molly Metcalf-coached Hawks.
At the final siren the Bulldogs led 62-20.
Kira Gibbons led Golden Square’s attack on three goals as Ruby Demeo added two.
A list of Eaglehawk’s goalkickers was not supplied.
Best for Golden Square were Ava Barker, Carly Geary, Liz Watkins, Taylah Moore and Gemma Roberts.
Eaglehawk’s best were Ellie Bailey, Alannah Leach, Monique Gavriliadis, Lexie Moss, Hannah Kenny and Nikeah Anderson.
There were big wins for Sandhurst and Wedge-Tailed Eagles on Sunday.
Sandhurst faced White Hills at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
The Dragons charged to a 36-nil lead by quarter-time and then slammed on six goals in the second.
Inspired by the play of Samantha Johnston, Grace Campbell and Isabella Ayre, Sandhurst kicked seven goals in term three and another five in the last to complete a 157-nil victory.
The Dragons’ attack was led by Grace Campbell on six goals as Samantha Johnston and Charlotte Scanlon kicked four each and Lily Campbell slotted three.
Best for a Sandhurst team jointly coached by Liam Ireland and Andrew Saladino included Chloe Naughton, Ruby and Lily Campbell.
Ella Henery, Chelsea Edwards, co-coach Sharni Barker, Catherine Fry, Sasha Pearce and Tracey Anderson were best for White Hills.
The Demons have Allara Jackson as co-coach.
Wedge-Tailed Eagles soared to a 115-point win against Bendigo Thunder at Woodend’s Racecourse Reserve.
The Phil Hawkes-coached Eagles led 22-nil at quarter-time and 48-1 by the long break.
After scoring four goals in the third term the Wedge-Tailed Eagles added six in the last to complete a 116-1 victory.
The Eagles’ attack was led by Kasey Button with five goals as Skye Sinclair slotted four.
Three goals by Jorja Bennett and two by Brooke Cowan capped fine play in the Eagles fifth win.
Best for the Eagles were Demi Henderson, Aisha Mansfield, Kasey Button, Belinda Hateley, Skye Sinclair and Ayesha Nicholson.
Bendigo Thunder’s best were Hollie Maher, Stacey Barbagallo, Ngaire Harlan, Matilda Fowler, Archie Mclachlan and Shasta Martion.
Thunder is coached by Mick McInnes.
Marong forfeited its match with Castlemaine which was to have been played at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park.

Indigenous Round will be played by CVFL senior women’s teams on July 12 from 1pm.
Match of the day in the season’s 13th round will be Castlemaine and Golden Square at The Railway Hotel Oval in Castlemaine’s Camp Reserve.
White Hills hosts Wedge-Tailed Eagles at the Scott Street ground.
Bendigo Thunder faces Eaglehawk at Weeroona Oval in Napier Street.
Sandhurst tackles Marong at Queen Elizabeth Oval.

Round nine in the Champions IGA-backed CVFL under-18 girls footy competition began with Friday night’s match between Eaglehawk and Golden Square.
The Hawks and Bulldogs played under the lights at C and M Oval in Eaglehawk’s Canterbury Park.
Eaglehawk raced to an 18-nil lead by quarter-time.
From there it was Golden Square which worked hard to outscore the Borough, 19-15.
At the final siren the Hawks were up 33-19.
Zoe Hodgskiss, Darcy Martin and Macey Scoble all kicked a goal in Eaglehawk’s tally of 3.15.
Emily Brown and Lucy Johanasen goaled for the blue and gold.
Best for Eaglehawk were Rima Shanley, Maleah Lawry, Darcy Martin, Gracie Whitfort, Kira Collins and Maggie Pollock.
Emily Brown, Lucy Johansen, Jayde Chappel, Poppy Eaton, Evelyn Williams and Laylah Walsh played well for Golden Square.
In Sunday’s play, Woorinen scored a 72-7 win at home against White Hills.
Sadie Spitty slotted five goals for the Tigers as Zoe Brooks booted two.
Reagan Finch was on target for White Hills.
Best for the ladder-leading Woorinen were Sadie Spitty, Zoe Brooks, Meg Young, Carly Shepherd, Miela Roberts and Amalia Mcdonald.
The Demons’ best were Reagan Finch, Reagan Wirken, Matilda Meersbergen, Jayda Alford, Shanae Rotherham and Ella Watkins.
Details on the Sandhurst and Kangaroo Flat match played at Queen Elizabeth Oval were not supplied.
Marong took the points as Castlemaine forfeited the match to have been played at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park.
Echuca United forfeited what would have been a home game against Storm at Echuca South Recreation Reserve.
