Great rivals meet again on White Hills court

THE great rivalry between White Hills and Colbinabbin on the netball court is renewed in this Saturday’s 12th round of the Bendigo Bank Heathcote District Football Netball League season. Love the Game Round will be the theme across all matches this weekend.

Netball fans can expect another exciting match in the White Hills court at Tint-A-Car Oval in Scott Street.

Since 2016 it’s been a Demons and Grasshoppers showdown in the A-grade grand finals.

White Hills has won the past two premiership deciders, but Colbo triumphed in 2016 and ’17.

Most recent clash between the netball powers was in round five when the Grasshoppers scored an impressive 67-47 win against the team in red and black at M.J. Morgan Oval in Colbinabbin.

The Grasshoppers are 10 points clear of the Demons on the ladder and will start favourite to take the points in the clash between second and third.

Huntly takes on the unbeaten Elmore at Specialist Breeders Australia Oval in Huntly’s Strauch Reserve.

The round five match at Elmore ended in a 61-35 win for the Bloods.

A loss is likely to put the Hawks out of the top five.

North Bendigo starts this round in sixth place and will be desperate for another home-court victory against Heathcote at Hibo Hotel Oval in Atkins Street.

The home team will be refreshed from last week’s bye, while the Saints aim to bounce back from a 29-goal loss to White Hills.

In round five, North Bendigo fought for a 51-48 win at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve.

Leitchville Gunbower takes on Mount Pleasant at Degroot Roof Painting Gunbower Reserve.

Mounts moved to fourth after a 14-goal win at home against Huntly last round.

The Bombers were on the end of a 48-goal defeat on Colbinabbin’s court.
