THE ladder-leading Murrabit withstood a spirited challenge from Wandella to win Saturday’s round 13 match in the Golden Rivers FNL A-grade netball action.
It was fifth against first on Wandella’s court.
Although it had won just two matches so far, Wandella put in a great performance against the Blues.
Murrabit led 10-9 at quarter-time and 27-22 by the main break.
In the third it was the Bombers who cut the margin by a goal as they won the term, 11-10.
Murrabit steadied in the last to score 16 goals as Wandella added seven.
At the final whistle the Blues led 53-40.
Murrabit’s attack was led by Montana Keating, 28; and Grace Gillingham, 25.
The Bombers’ tally included 16 goals by Macey Bott.
The Swans from Moulamein won every quarter in a 64-39 result on Hay’s court.
Moulamein won the first term, 20-9, and the second, 15-11.
A nine-goal buffer at half-time grew to 20 by the last change.
Maddy Wild scored a game-high 43 goals as Meg-Jordyne Rooney added 15 and Jorja Henery tipped in six in the 64-39 result.
Hay’s attack was led by Ellen Jamieson with 32.
Macorna was too strong on its court for Ultima.
The Tigers led 15-12 at quarter-time and then won the second, 13-6.
Asela Finch went on to score a match-high 28 goals as Emmalea Wishart added 20 in a 48-33 win for the yellow and black.
Ultima’s goalers were Grace Farrell, 17; and Ash Sanders, 16.

Macorna plays Murrabit in Tigers’ territory.
