ULTIMA put in a brilliant final quarter to defeat Moulamein in Saturday’s 14th round of A-grade netball in the Golden Rivers FNL season.
It was fourth against third in what was a likely first semi-final prelude on Ultima’s court.
Scores were 9-all at quarter-time and 22-all by the main break.
In the third Ultima scored 12 goals as the Swans added 11.
A one-goal buffer for the Roos at the start of the final quarter was five by the end after they won the term, 12-8, and the match, 46-41.
Grace Farrell and Ash Sanders had an identical goals tally of 23 for Ultima.
Moulamein’s Maddy Wild scored a game-high 24 goals as Meg-Jordyne Rooney added 17.
Wandella won every quarter on its way to a 20-goal victory against Hay in the Bombers’ hangar.
The Bombers led 15-9 at quarter-time and 26-19 by the long break.
Wandella increased its lead to 14 at a quarter to go and then won the final term, 16-10, for a 56-36 result.
Macey Bott scored 26 goals for Wandella as Ellen Jamieson poured in 29 for the Hay Lions.
It was a closely-fought contest between Macorna and Murrabit.
The Macorna Tigers clawed their way to a 22-21 win against the Blues on the Macorna court.
