Moulamein aims to bounce back against Hay

STUNG by a 100-point loss in round one, Moulamein will be desperate to bounce back in Saturday’s second round of the Golden Rivers senior footy season.

The Swans have home ground advantage at Moulamein for the clash with Hay starting at 2.25pm.

When these clubs last met it was Hay which beat the Swans in the preliminary final by 35 points.

A week later and the Lions roared to premiership victory against Ultima.

Key players for Moulamein include ruckman Heath Moloney, centreman Andrew May, Ely Miller and Hunter Hartland in attack, Cody Storm and Kaylem Hartley in defence.

Hay kicked off the season by scoring a 73-point win at home against Murrabit.

A talented Lions line-up includes captain Brad Pocock, William Collis, Jack Cattanach, Kenneth Jubb, Liam Whitbourne, Daniel Zambon and James Moran.

Top goalkicker Declan Watson is not in Hay’s team for this contest.

Murrabit is home to take on Macorna.

The Blues played the reigning premier at Hay in round one.

Best for Murrabit against the Lions were centreman Nathan O’Toole,ruck-rover Austin McKerrow, captain Ben Gillingham and centre half-back Dean Harrop.

The play of Patrick Bryan, Tom Copland and Jordan Lampi will have a major bearing on Murrabit’s chances.

Macorna will be keen to follow up a six-goal win against Wandella.

Best for the Tigers against the Bombers were Hunter Anset in the centre, ruckman Xavier Wishart, Toby Whinfield at half-back, and rover Malcolm Neiwand.

Macorna also has Hunter Anset, Travis Mercadante and Lachlan Ritchie capable of winning many contests.

Wandella is at home to take on Ultima.

Massive test for the Bombers against the Kangaroos.

Wandella’s best in round one were co-coach Adam Ward, Logan Keighran, Nathan Boysen and Kaine O’Connell.

The red and black will look for big games from Russell Rich, Justin and Tim Robinson, Kaine O’Connell, Logan Keighran and Jarred Schlitz.

Ultima was in top form against Moulamein.

A strong Kangaroos’ line-up includes ruckman Jye Purtill, Mitch and Tyler Makepeace, Thomas Bull, Cameron Johnson, Jayden Kiel, Ryan Featherby, Ricky Wild and Matt Taverna.
