THE Swans from Moulamein won a hard-fought A-grade netball match on Ultima’s court in Saturday’s fifth round of the Golden Rivers FNL season.
A great match was played between the Kangaroos and Swans.
Ultima led 11-10 at quarter-time, but Moulamein hit back to win the next term, 11-8, before an 11-all deadlock in the third.
Defences were well on top in the last as both teams were held to just five goals.
At the final whistle Moulamein was up, 37-35.
Goalscorers for Moulamein were Maddy Wild, 19; and Meg-Jordyne Rooney, 18.
Ultima’s attack was led by Grace Farrell on 13 goals.
Wandella was too strong on its court for Hay.
The Bombers led 18-9 at quarter-time and 35-20 by the long break.
Hay hit back to win the third term, 15-9, as both teams scored 12 goals apiece in the last.
Trishelle Martin poured in 27 goals in a 56-47 victory for Wandella.
The Lions’ attack was led by Ellen Jamieson, 31.
Scores from the Macorna and Murrabit match were not supplied.
