Bombers tackle Tigers at Wandella

A CLASH between third and fourth-placed Wandella and Macorna highlights Saturday’s sixth round of senior footy in the Golden Rivers competition.

Wandella has home ground advantage as the Bombers tackle the Tigers from 2.25pm.

Both teams have a win-loss tally of two-three and are on the rebound from defeat.

Wandella’s trek to Hay ended in a 111-49 loss to the reigning premier.

Other key players for the red and black include Adam Ward, Russell Rich, Tim Robinson and Jarred Schlitz.

Macorna was defeated in its home clash with Ultima, 104-49.

The Tigers will look for big games from the likes of Michael Govus, Travis Mercandante, Malcolm Neiwand and Lachlan Ritchie.

Another big test for Macorna’s defence led by Josh Berryman, co-captain Laing Whinfield, Sam Whinfield and Xavier Wishart.

Ultima will be at home to take on Moulamein.

The Swans will be wary of an opponent which ended its winless streak in a 65-64 victory at home against Murrabit last round.

A 4-1 record has Ultima in second place in the premiership race.

In-form players for the Kangaroos include Rory Bell, Caillum Brady, vice-captain Thomas Bull, key defender Jamie Nicholas, Matt Taverna and Ricky Wild.

Ultima’s talented attack includes Ryan Devereux, Lincoln Frost and captain Jake Foster.

Moulamein’s best against Murrabit were Trae Atkinson, Rodney Reeves, James White and Mark Drotsky.

The Swans will look to Xander Hartland, Cody Storm, ruckman Heath Moloney, Ely Miller and Jayden Haesuler to win plenty of contests.

Murrabit hosts Hay.

Huge task for the Blues against the unbeaten reigning premier.

Best for Murrabit last round were  Jacob Wade, Ryan Manning, Austin McKerrow, Sean Gillen, Josh Bray and Tobie Cameron.

Hay dominated most of last Saturday’s play against Wandella to record a 62-point victory.
