AN IN-FORM Golden Square faces Eaglehawk in this Sunday’s round eight match in the Champions IGA-backed CVFL senior women’s footy season.
Golden Square has home-ground advantage at Gourmet Pantry Oval in Wade Street for a 1pm showdown with the Hawks.
Both teams take winning form into this match.
The Darren Walsh-coached Golden Square scored a 61-point victory against Wedge-Tailed Eagles at Woodend’s Racecourse Reserve last Sunday.
An Eaglehawk team which has Molly Metcalf as playing coach slotted 40 goals in the big win against Marong in the Panthers’ den at Malone Park.
The round two showdown between Golden Square and Eaglehawk ended in a 62-point win for the Bulldogs at C & M Oval in the Borough’s Canterbury Park.
Golden Square’s team to take on the Hawks includes Gabby Drage, Carly Geary, Karley Hynes, Maddie Jelbart, Lauren Knight and Sarah Mannes.
Best for the Borough against Marong were Monique Gavriliadis, Courtney Coffey, Molly Metcalf and Lexie Moss.
The Hawks’ squad includes Eliza Long, Kelly Mensforth and Shanae Sawyer.
Another big match will be at White Hills where the Demons meet Sandhurst in the clash of fourth and fifth.
White Hills is on the rebound from a 53-point loss at Castlemaine.
Latest hit-out for Sandhurst ended in a 20-goal win against Bendigo Thunder.
When the Demons and Dragons met in round one it was Sandhurst which won by 31 points in White Hills.
A White Hills team coached by Sharni Barker and Allara Jackson includes Tracey Anderson, Kara Kane, Maiya and Sasha Pearce, and Tanika Thomson.
Key players for Sandhurst include Katrina Alford, Isabella Ayre, Sarah Baldwin, Lily and Ruby Campbell, Chloe Naughton, and Maddy White.
The Sandhurst team is coached by Liam Ireland and Andrew Saladino.
Marong is back on its turf at Jackal Oval in Malone Park to play Wedge-Tailed Eagles.
In round two the Phil Hawkes-coached Eagles soared to a 172-point victory against the Panthers.
A Marong team coached by Brett Carter to face the Eagles this time includes Jacinta Hoggan, Tidimalo Khalo, Naomi Ridsdale, Shauna Roy, and Jayda Smith.
A three-four record has the Eagles perched on the ladder’s sixth rung.
Key players for Wedge-Tailed Eagles include Teagan Ainslie, Jorja Bennett, Brooke Cowan, Lucy Lenius, Peta Turnbull, and Emma Williams.
Castlemaine is back on its ground at The Railway Hotel Oval in Camp Reserve to play Bendigo Thunder.
The Jordan Cochrane-coached Castlemaine has a strong attack which is likely to be given plenty of chances.
Players to watch for the Magpies include Tiffany Bradley, Hannah and Tiahna Cochrane, Jemma Finning, Paynton Jolliffe, Abbey Klemm, and Taylah Sartori.

The fourth-placed Marong is on home turf at Jackal Oval in Malone Park to play Kangaroo Flat.
White Hills and Sandhurst meet in the Demons’ den in Scott Street.
