Ladson to take on leading role in Senior Women’s Interleague

Hawthorn Premiership player Rick Ladson is set to take on the head coach role for the Champions IGA Central Victoria Football League Women Interleague match.

Ladson is no stranger to the Champions IGA CVFL players as he previously coached Golden Square Senior Women’s team from 2019 to 2021.

Ladson is a master of the game at both the elite and local level, his ability to lead and develop players makes him the perfect person for the CVFL coaching role.

The Champions IGA Central Victorian Football League Women will play Northern Country Women’s Football League on Sunday 22 May at the Queen Elizabeth Oval in Bendigo.

The Northern Country Womens Football League and the Central Victorian Football League commenced the inter-league match up in 2018 and played again in 2019 before covid impacted the rivalry in 2020/21. It will be great to see both leagues compete against each other again in 2022.

Players will be nominated by their Champions IGA CVFL club and will have the opportunity to trial, where a squad followed by a team will be named.

This is an exciting time for Senior Women’s Football in the region and we look forward to seeing the talent in action.
